Alkaline Foods List PDF and High pH Levels Food Chart

You may be surprised to know that when it comes to your health, what you eat is actually going to be one of the most important things that you can pay attention too.  Regardless of how much you exercise or how much or little you eat, what you eat is going to have the biggest impact on your body.  In fact, there is actually going to a very surprising amount of physical problems and even several different diseases that can actually occur from the foods that you eat.

These foods are going to be the ones that are on the more acidic side, meaning that after you consume them, they are going to cause acid to be released into your body during and after they have been digested.  In this modern world that you live in, most of the population is going to suffer from all of the problems that are caused by the stress that acidosis puts on your body, as both your modern lifestyle, as well as your diet, are going to promote acidification of your body and its internal environment.

The typical American diet is going to consist of a large amount of acid-forming foods, which are going to include cereals, sugars and proteins.  With that being said, the typical diet is also going to consume far less alkaline-producing foods, these including vegetables, as they are normally going to be eating in a much smaller quantity.  Now add in extra stimulants such as tobacco, tea, coffee and alcohol, and these are all going to produce even more acidity within your body.  As if that wasn’t enough to freak you out, stress and the lack of exercise and other types of physical activity are also going to help your body to cause acidification.

With that being said, there are going to be many different types of foods that are naturally going to be either neutral or alkaline producing, but most of the processed foods that people have grown accustomed to eating every single day are going to be mainly acid producing.  What makes matters even worse and the entire thing even more confusing for most people is going to be that these are typically going to be the foods that are advertised the most in all of the different forms of the media, as well as being the foods that are packed on all of the shelves in most grocery stores.

What this means, is that even though you are going to want to eat a good balance of both alkaline and acidic producing foods, you are being bombarded with foods that are more acid producing almost everywhere you look.  As mentioned, most of the ads for foods that you see on the media networks is going to advertise mostly acidic foods, and then when you go into the grocery store, most of the foods that they advertise and have on sale are also going to be mainly acid producing.

So, what are you supposed to do if you are trying to be as healthy as you can and get your body in the right balance of acidic and alkaline?  Here is what you need to know about how to keep your body perfectly balanced for maximal health, as well as the foods that you should be eating on a daily basis in order to make this happen.

Eating for Optimal Health

It is going to be very important for you to try and eat a diet that consists of a minimum of 60% of foods that are alkaline producing if you are in any way series about maintaining your health at an optimal level.  This means that you should be eating plenty of fresh fruits and the right vegetables (which the ‘right’ vegetables are going to be the ones that are alkaline-producing) to help balance out your protein intake, which is going to be acid-producing.  On top of that, you are going to want to do your best to stay away from any kind of foods that are processed, a simple-carbohydrate food, or sugary.

This is going to be because these types of foods are the ones that are not only going to be acid-producing, but they are also going to raise your blood sugar levels very quickly, meaning that they are considered to be on the higher side of the glycemic index.  What this means is that it is going to be these types of foods that will fatten and stress out your insulin response, meaning that they are going to eventually lead you to having some serious health conditions down the road.  As if that weren’t enough to avoid these types of foods, most of these types of foods are also going to be very low in any kind of nutrients, as well as potentially containing toxics, that you probably don’t want to have in your body, as well.

Now keep in mind that your body is a very advanced organism and is very good at maintain itself to be in optimal health, that is if you don’t eat the foods that will cause you to be more acidic.  In fact, the body is actually going to be able to maintain the correct pH that it needs by any means necessary.  This is what is known as ‘homeostasis’ and is exactly where your body should always be.

However, this can become very stressful on your body’s systems if your diet is too unbalanced and you are eating more acidic-producing foods (which means that they form acid in your body after they have been digested).  When it comes to your cells, however, they are going to be a different story.  Urine and saliva tests are going to be able to clearly show the changes that occur in acidity and alkalinity that are going to be caused by your lifestyle and your diet.

Your Body’s Natural pH?

When it comes to your body, water is going to be the most abundant compound that can be found in it, essentially making up roughly 70% of your total body.  This means that your body is going to contain a very wide range of solutions, which can either be more or less acid.  Your pH) which is also referred to as ‘potential of Hydrogen’) is going to be a simple measure of the amount of alkalinity or acidity that you have in your body.

Essentially, this is going to be the ratio that is found between the amount of positively charged ions in your body (which are going to be the acid-forming ones) and the amount of negatively charged ions in your body (which are going to be the alkaline-forming ones).  When it comes to your body’s pH balance, it is essentially going to be a measure of your hydrogen-ion concentration.  The higher that your pH level is, the more alkaline you will be and the more oxygen rich the fluid within your body will be.

The lower your pH levels are, the more acidic your body is going to be, which means that you will have much less oxygen in your body fluids.  The regular pH range is going to be between 0 and 14, the number 7.0 being considered as neutral.  If you have a pH level that is above 7.0, you are going to be considered alkaline, while anything below 7.0 is going to be considered acidic.

As far as you are concerned, you should have a blood pH that ranges anywhere between 7.35 and 7.45.  If you are either below or above this range, it means that you are at risk for many different types of diseases and symptoms.  To put this into perspective, if you happen to have a blood pH that is either above 7.8 or below 6.8, the cells in your body are going to stop functioning and your body is going to start to die.  This is going to be the very reason that your body is going to do everything that it can in order to stay at a balanced pH level.  What all of this means, is that when your body’s pH level becomes compromised, there are many different and serious health problems that can start to occur.

When you have a diet that is imbalanced and ends up being too high in acidic-producing foods that include sugar, animal protein, processed foods and caffeine, it is going to put much more extra pressure on your body to regular and maintain your pH neutrality.  With all of the additional buffering that your body is going to have to perform in order to keep your pH levels balanced,  it can very easily deplete your body of all the alkaline minerals (some of which include potassium, sodium, calcium and magnesium), meaning that you will become much more prone to having degenerative and chronic diseases.

This is because your body will need to get the minerals that it requires from somewhere, and since you are not eating the amount that you need to be eating on a regular basis, your body is going to have to borrow the minerals that are normally found in your bones and vital organs in order to buffer (or neutralize) the extra acid that is in your body and safely remove it out of your body.  It is because of this that your body is able to potentially suffer from very severe and prolonged damages, basically meaning that you can expect to have a condition that can go undetected for several years.

Potential Health Problems Due to Acidosis

Studies have shown that if you don’t have a body that is slightly alkaline, you will not be able to heal yourself.  What this means, is that it will not matter what you try to do in order to heal or take care of your health, nothing is going to be effective until you have gotten your body’s pH levels back to a balance.    When your body’s pH is not in balance, you will not be able to effectively assimilate minerals, vitamins, or any other type of food supplement.  Essentially, your body’s pH levels are going to have an effect on just about every aspect of your health.

When your body does go into acidosis, it is also going to decrease your ability to absorb any minerals and other nutrients that you need in order to be healthy, as well as decrease the amount of energy that your body is able to produce within its cells, decrease your ability to repair any cells that become damaged, decrease the rate in which you are able to detoxify from heavy metals, it will make it so your body becomes the perfect place for tumor cells to thrive in, and it will even make you much more susceptible to illnesses and fatigue.

When you have an acidic pH, it is normally going to be because you have some type of acid-forming diet, a toxic overload, are suffering from emotional stress, and you can even have immune reactions or any other process that is going to deprive the cells of your body of oxygen, as well as other nutrients that they require in order to function properly.  Your body is a smart organism, which means that if you are acidic, your body will try to compensate for this by using all of the alkaline minerals that it has available to it.

If your body does not contain the right amount of alkaline minerals (which you would get through the foods you eat and your regular daily diet), acid will then start to build up in your body’s cells.  When this happens, you are going to be putting yourself at risk for suffering from many different health conditions, some of those including:

  • Cardiovascular damages
  • Excessive weight gain and diabetes
  • Several different bladder conditions
  • Painful kidney stones
  • Different immune deficiencies
  • Free radical acceleration damage
  • Different hormonal problems
  • Aging prematurely
  • Joint pain and osteoporosis
  • Lactic acid buildup and muscle soreness
  • Chronic fatigue and low energy
  • Gastritis
  • Thin nails that will begin to split very easily
  • Dull looking hair that is full of split ends and falls out more easily than it should
  • Skin that is dry and unhealthy
  • Your skin will be very easily irritated
  • Leg spasms and cramps
  • Other conditions and illnesses as well

Now that you know exactly how important it is to eat fully balanced diet that is alkaline based, here is exactly how you can go about doing that starting right now.

Understanding an Alkaline Diet

If you are looking to achieve optimal health, you are more than likely going to want to start eating a diet that is packed full of alkaline foods.  With that being said, there are a lot of people that have no idea what that means.  So, if you are one of those people, you have nothing to worry about.  Here is what you need to know about eating an alkaline diet.

The concept of an alkaline diet is actually going to be very simple.  You are going to be focusing all of your eating on foods that will allow your body to regain the perfect pH balance that it thrives to be in, that’s it.  This means that you’re going to start focusing on foods that are more natural, meaning that you are essentially going to focus all of your efforts on eating fresh vegetables and fruits, whole grains, and protein sources that are considered to be wholesome, those including legumes and beans, as well as healthy oils like flax seed and olive oil.

While some of these foods may be considered acidic, when they are digested by your body, they are going to have an alkaline effect.  As soon as you are able to get your body’s pH level to be slightly alkaline, all of your body’s systems are going to work much more efficiently together.

Here are some of the best foods that you can eat on a regular basis in order to keep your body on the alkaline side.  Try to incorporate these foods into your daily diet as often as possible.
