No One Wants the Internet of Things … Other than Big Brother

We’ve previously noted that no one wants the Internet of Things aka IoT (other than Big Brother and a handful of companies which are trying to make a quick buck off of us).

For months, I’ve taken screenshots of IoT stories run by the very mainstream Business Insider.

What they show is that Business Insider readers ignore every single IoT story. Specifically, there is no interest in any IoT story … and even stories posted at the exact same time or after IoT stories get more interest (compare the following images to these hot stories):

Amusingly the idiots that want to connect everything will find there is a bit of barrier. Namely, the antiquated ‘ERP’ systems that have been installed. They are in the main not real time and won’t be able to handle all the connected devices, data and security demands. Train crash meet wreck.

    • Mencken’s Ghost

      So, ERP, meet derp? };^D

Here is an interesting look at how WiFi can be used to actually track every keystroke that an individual makes:

    https://viableopposition.blogspot.ca/2017/07/wifi-and-keystroke-recognition.html

It is only a matter of time before this technology is widely used by the world’s intelligence networks, prying even further into what little remains of our privacy

    • The more they extend their reach, the shorter their grasp becomes.

  • Sparticus

If the government will not respect the peoples privacy. then there is no reason to allow the Government to have Secrets.

    • There has never been a legitimate reason for government secrecy that wasn’t based on their need to hide their crimes.

    • Mike Carroll

Allow? JFK found out what happens when you try to stop these people.

      • JFK found out what happens when you fail to stop them.

Nobody wants the internet of things? Could’ve fooled me. I wish it were true, but just look around at all of the lemmings carrying their tracking devices/record of everything they do (a.k.a “smart phones”)…at how they buy products which are controlled by or interact with said phones; How many can not even enjoy the simple pleasure of riding a bicycle, without GPS and a heart-rate monitor, which uploads all of their stats/location/speed/etc. to a website/the cloud; how they allow Facebook to track their every online move; How they’ll pay a premium for a refrigerator or washing machine that interacts with their stupid phone; and TV’s which connect to the internet, and through which they can answer their phone or send an email…..

Apparently, the author of this article lives under a rock, or perhaps has found Galt’s Gulch, where intelligent people maintain privacy and control over their own things….but in the rest of the world, the lemmings seem to think that it’s cool for everything in their life, including the washing machine and the dog, to be wired up to the matrix….. πŸ™

Those of us who truly don’t want the internet Of Things and all of it’s peripherals and lead-ins; and who abhor and refrain from using such now mundane things as Facebook and smart phones, and cars with black boxes and touch-screens and wi-fi, are already such a small minority that we are counted as cranks and Luddites.

And for all their cameras, and all their monitoring, they couldn’t catch a pipe bomber before he set off a charge in the New York City subway! Big Brother is like Charlie Babbitt’s big brother Raymond in the movie Rain Man.

    • The pipe bomber didn’t kill anyone because the FBI didn’t provide the bomb.

    • Mike Carroll

They invite them in so they can set off bombs. Why would they stop them?

It is their plan to implement a security state.

But you had better watch what you say. If you threaten them they may take you out.

      • We have to threaten them as a majority to rebuff them.

        • Mike Carroll

You would be picked off one by one by your enemy the federal government.

  • We should boycott the IoT until all of the government employees, elected officials, and lobbyists are chipped.
