Russia Announces No-Fly Zone in Syria — War Against U.S. There

Eric Zuesse

Late on Monday the 19th, was reported by Russia’s Sputnik: “In areas where Russian aviation is conducting combat missions in the Syrian skies, any flying ojects, including jets and unmanned aerial vehicles of the international coalition discovered west of the Euphrates River, will be followed by Russian air and ground defenses as air targets” — meaning ordered out, or else immediately shot down.

In international law, and as recognized by the U.N., Syria has been invaded by the United States, was never invited into the country but is instead there as an invader. Russia was invited in; Iran was invited in; but the U.S. are only invaders. And, now, Russia and Syria will start treating the U.S. as such.

When U.S. Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton repeatedly called for the U.S. government to establish a no-fly zone in Syria, she was proposing that the U.S. invasion of Syria become recognized officially by the U.S. government, and this would have meant immediate war by the U.S. against Syria, Russia, and Iran, in the battlefields of Syria. President Barack Obama had decided not to go that far — to war against Russia — but Hillary Clinton insisted on it. And now, Russia has actually done it — but (unlike if the U.S. had done it) legally, in defense of the sovereign government of Syria, not as an invader. (Furthermore, most Syrians support that government, and 82% of Syrians blame the U.S. for the invasion of Al Qaeda and other jihadist forces to overthrow it — most of which are foreigners — into Syrian territory.)

If the U.S. fails to apologize and to find some way to save face, but instead persists in its invasion, even after this warning, then either the U.S. or Russia will win that traditional war in Syria. At that point, the losing side will have only one way to win the war in Syria, and that way would be to go to nuclear war against the other side, bombing the other side’s homeland — Russia, or else the United States — by means of a blitz all-out nuclear atack, in order to obliterate as much of the other side’s nuclear weapons before they’re fired, as possible, and thus minimize the retaliation, and so ‘win’. Doing that — being the first to unleash armageddon — would ‘win’ the war, but destroy the entire planet.

However, if the U.S. regime instead simply backs down now, before there will be any hot war against Russia, then big history will be made, and the world will never be the same again.

So, in either case, the world will never be the same again: the future is going to be very unlike the past, regardless of whether there even will be a future.

Al Masdar News, the go-to site for the latest news regarding the Syrian war, headlines, as of 3PM Eastern time, “Pentagon changes disposition of US-led coalition aircraft in Syria”, and reports, from several reliable sources, such as Joseph Dunford, the head of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, indicate a U.S. climb-down, and a desire to cooperate with Russia in Syria. If this is not a lie (as so much from the U.S. government has turned out to be), then the U.S. will stop protecting its jihadists in Syria; and, consequently, the war in Syria will end on terms which are suitable to Syria, Russia, and Iran, but which have not heretofore been acceptable to the U.S.-Saudi (and other fundamentalist Sunni) coalition.

The signs, at least as of 3PM, are that Trump will quit the war against the Syrian government, regardless of how much this might disappoint the Sauds (and the Israelis). Looking at the way the Western press are reporting on the matter, they’re going to allow him to withdraw as quietly as possible. So, as soon as Russia made clear that it’s willing to go all the way to defeat the U.S.-Saudi-Sunni-fundamentalist invasion, the West, apparently, will simply quit. All the jihadists in Syria will soon be scrambling to escape from there. Without U.S. protection, they can’t win. But will Russia, Iran, and Syria, simply kill them all, right there? If not, then those jihadists will end up going back ‘home’, wherever that might happen to be, and far more dangerous in those countries than they had been there before.

Yes, but Putin is too much of a Whimp and the CIA will play Him for a Do Nothing.

Putin failed to buy Greece ( Greece appealed to Russia for Support) when He had the oppertunity. This would have allowed Russia, in one move, to checkmate NATO. No Russian Leader in all of History would have passed up such a Blessing. Putin is CIA, or paid by CIA, and I am suprised the Russian Generals have allowed him to live this long.

Putin should have Ordered all US forces out of Syria. He will only endanger his military and the syrians by playing the cowardly bear. If Putin Orders the US out and Moves In, the US will simply vacate. They will not Risk War with Russia. Putin knows this, but HE is playing by US rules. A TRAITOR TO RUSSIA and HIS billions are SUSPECT! The CIA gave Him this Money.

One or the other should back down, in a rational world. However, Putin declared he would consider any more attacks on Syrian air bases as an act of war after Trump retaliated for the fake gas attack.

Now, no one is talking about Syria. Putin wants to stay in the headlines for whatever reason. All this talk about the Trump campaign colluding with Russia is going no where, and the Russian bear needs validation from the West.

Hopefully, Trump will keep his campaign position of non-intervention and stay the hell out of Syria. There’s no US vital interest there, or anywhere else except in our own hemisphere. Only the globalists win by more fighting in Syria.

        Trump already bombed.

Putin is a ” PUT IN,” and I have absolutly no doubt, as no Russian Leader could have passed an oppertunity to buy Greece and Install Air/Naval bases checkmating Nato, entirely. Putin will go down in History as a Military Imbecile! Putin allows His planes and the Planes of His Allies, their air bases, and their militaries to be assulted with impunity! Putin is a complete coward. The CIA will take full advantage.

Putin had a chance to partner with Venezuela and Iran and would be the Worlds OIL Powerhouse! However, with Greece in their back pocket, Checkmating NATO, Russia would be equal to the United States. They would be treated respectfully. However, now, ( due to Putins Stupidity) they will be treated like, the little kid who sucks up to the bully, with contempt and disdane.

When you have a military, and you are responsible for it, like PUTIN, you cannot allow “anyone” to shoot down your Allies or, as with Turkey, your own fighters, without grevious consequences least your own military revolt against YOU. Putin is not so smart for a KGB agent; Obviously, I suspect he is a double agent of the CIA. I am sure Russian Generals suspect the same, Putin has a polonium pill in his future.

Now, the situation on the Euphraties is interesting, because this is all in the Bible. Daniel and Revelations. I can see why Putin is playing lame, but He does not play lame ( nor does the US) when there are poor “brown” people to bomb into HELL and profit from. I have prayed and notified GOD that BULLIES must LEARN, and that I am here too, and relativly young, so I am willing to DIE so that the BULLIES get their LESSON.

I am in a Hurry … As all who love ( hence the root of my Anger with Him) God should be. John 2:15.

Oh, and do not worry anout typos, they throw off NSA fingerprinting.

    Ok, help me understand:
So the SAA and Hezbo now have an open corridor into Iraq. Assuming we will pull out of Syrai (good for us), what prevents the SAA and Hezbo (since the civil war is now over) from turning into the Golan Heights and going toe to toe with Israel. They seemed to do very well in their last encounter with the Israel ground forces.

    • Scoot Wad

As awesome as that is in theory, they would have zero Russian support, might even prompt the Russians to leave the theater altogether. SAA is battle hardened but far from fresh at this point, it would be a meat grinder in that terrain with no air cover against fresh Israeli forces who will have ample air, armor, and artillery assets. I bet it would greatly please the Israelis if they tried.

This is why you supported Trump, isn’t it, Eric? This is why I thought Trump might be the lesser of two evils. If he goes beyond sham confrontation and chest pounding, Putin & Co will tell the truth about his financial relationships with Russian gangsters and mortally embarrass this shameless idiot of a president. Putin is the man. Trump is the whining bitch.

This 3PM update comes as excellent news. Let’s hope it’s true because it’s the right thing to do….leave!

        Go to hell, spammer!!

  • animalogic

I wish I could be as optimistic as Mr Zuesse. I do not believe that the US will simply “quit” the war. In fact, the US has been ratcheting up its aggression against Syrian government forces since the (ridiculous) Cruise missile attack.
I suspect things will get worse before (maybe) getting better.

Any discussion of Syria is void and incomplete without mentioning Israel’s motives and involvement in destabilizing Syria & giving medical aid to ISIS fighters.

Every single victim country of the bogus “war on terror” was on Israel’s “hit list” ( Syria Iraq Iran Libya) with the exception of Afghanistan.

Awww … Come on, America, I recall Iraq and USA, USA, USA!!! You smell fear dont you, America? Good, because IT WILL COME!
