After Getting Busted for Bombing Syria Based On a Lie, Trump Doubles Down … Threatens to Bomb Syria Even Harder for the Same Bogus Reason

A report yesterday by the Pulitzer-prize winning reporter who broke some of the biggest stories of the Vietnam and Iraq wars showed that Trump bombed Syria on April 4th based upon false pretenses.

Specifically, Trump said the Syrian government carried out a chemical weapons attack on civilians. But U.S. military and intelligence officials say that they told Trump there was no evidence for that claim … and they say that what really happened is that Syria bombed Islamic terrorists, and that accidentally released chemicals being stored by the terrorists.

So how does Trump respond to the report?

He doubles down on the bull …

White House spokesman Sean Spicer said tonight:

The United States has identified potential preparations for another chemical weapons attack by the Assad regime that would likely result in the mass murder of civilians, including innocent children.

The activities are similar to preparations the regime made before its April 4, 2017 chemical weapons attack.

If … Mr. Assad conducts another mass murder attack using chemical weapons, he and his military will pay a heavy price.

After Spicer’s statement, Neocon warmonger – and U.S. representative to the U.N. – Nikki Haley tweeted:

Any further attacks done to the people of Syria will be blamed on Assad, but also on Russia & Iran who support him killing his own people.

Notice that Haley does not say:

Any further attacks CARRIED OUT BY THE SYRIAN GOVERNMENT and done to the people of Syria will be blamed on Assad, but also on Russia & Iran who support him killing his own people.

Anything bad happens – whether it’s carried out by Assad, or ISIS, or Al Qaeda, or outside forces trying to destabilize Syria – it will be blamed on Assad as a justification for a lot more bombing.

Postscript:  This little game has been going on for 68 years.  Specifically, the U.S. government has been trying to replace the Syrian government with folks who will be subservient to America since 1949 … 3 years after Syria became an independent nation.

The CIA succeeded in carrying out a coup in Syria 1949.

In 1957, the American president and British prime minister agreed to launch regime change again in Syria using a false flag. (False flags are not only historically documented, but presidents, prime ministers, congressmen, generals, spooks, soldiers and police have ADMITTED to planning and carrying out false flag attacks).

In 1983, 1986, 1991, 2001, 2009 and 2012, American officials again schemed about regime change in Syria.

Here is an article that looks at which defense company benefits the most from Washington’s defense budget:

It is the military-industrial-intelligence community that is largely responsible for driving America’s global political agenda, including the agenda in Syria.

    • awb22

Agreed, Trump has to pick his battles. He was painted into a corner by the neocon puppets, and called their bluff by sending $1B worth of cruise missiles to blow up an unmanned airstrip which was back in operation 2 days later, and to further make his point, dropped a MOAB on a cave site in Afghanistan.

Of course the gas attack was fake news. Who doesn’t know that by now? Trump has to play the cards he’s dealt, and so far, hasn’t backed down or compromised.

Mid term elections are right around the corner, and if Congress doesn’t get their act together, they can all be replaced. Trump is on track for re-election.

      • Rev_Rock

Wasn’t the cruise missile bombing a compromise? Didn’t he back down to the neocons? As far as I’m concerned, he hasn’t played his cards very well yet. Time to call their bluffs, I’d say!

        • David Whiting

Yes, huge compromise. Also unconstitutional and Trump should be impeached over it. Then tried for treason with the normal sentence once found guilty. Same goes for the previous dictators in chief.

          • Trump is no where as culpable in treason as are the military members that went off to invade and conquer countries that have never threatened or attacked us, let alone been declared war against.

        • Are you willing to take a bullet for him if he follows your advice?

    • The military-intelligence industry has driven American foreign policy for as long as there has been one.

  • Robert Browning

America is using white phosphorous against civilians in Ar-Raqqa. A victorious and battle harden alliance of Syria, Iran and Russia can not be allowed on Israel’s borders. How far is Trump willing to go in defending Israels interests and what is the alliance going to do to stop America?? Is America at risk on the coming 4th of July holiday??

    • da6675

Like the neocons, Trump would risk US destruction to please Bibi and the billionaire Zionists.

Important points, GW; thank you. “This little game” of colonialism is what so-called “developed” .01% “leaders” do in ongoing attempts of domination and resource control. I conclude this is all we’ll ever have until our own military and public evolve enough to recognize these military interventions for what they are:

lie-started and Orwellian-illegal Wars of Aggression.

The lying, war-murdering, associated War Crimes and looting have only one ethical response from our military: refusing illegal war orders (there are no lawful orders for unlawful wars) with officers acting to arrest those who issue them.

The American public have just one ethical response: demand .01% arrests for lying, Wars of Aggression, looting, and Crimes Against Humanity for the associated deaths from poverty as known and intentional outcome as “pressure” to force political surrender to US interests. It’s our “leadership” who hate people for their freedoms, and target them for ongoing US illegal rogue state empire.

Until we reach an “Emperor’s New Clothes” moment: there will be more lies, armed attacks, harm, death, and US debt to fund it under our flag and with our military committing the War Crimes.

According to Hersh, as the neo cons go to limited hangout mouth piece again, Trump ordered the missile strike on the Syrian air base against the spy agencies best advice, being ‘who did the attack was inconclusive’. Aren’t the imperial spy guys just a paragon of virtue. This even after the neo cons and their spy agencies MSM backed the big lie of Assad forces using poison gas AGAIN to the hilt. If the neo cons narrative hadn’t fallen apart so quickly that time around they wouldn’t have had to back track and use Trump as their excuse patsy, Trump being an even bigger idiot than I previously thought. Now that ol’ red line threat is being issued again, and again we can anticipate that the Syrian civilian population and beautiful babies will be the ones to die for the neo con’s ‘repeat the big lie often enough’ meme. This all reminds me of the desperate situation in Hitler’s bunker as the illusion of any military ability to forestall defeat is dissolved.

Without wishing to minimize the influence on U.S. foreign policy of people like Sheldon Adelson (who apparently believes he owns the government along with the successful candidates he has purchased) or the military industrial complex, I can’t help but wonder about Saudi Arabia (SA). It is true (I believe?) that China now owns a much larger share of foreign-held US debt than SA. But as the original facilitator of the post-Bretton Woods fiat ‘petrodollar’, by threatening to withdraw its oil as ‘backing’ for that (petro)dollar, I can’t help thinking it still has enormous influence on the bankers and financiers who ACTUALLY MAKE US foreign policy.

Without its fiat (petro)dollar, the US would actually have to pay its way in the world with something besides the bombs, bullets and depleted uranium it has been gratuitously giving away for the last half-century and more. US and Western politicians would have to actually collect taxes from their wealthiest constituents (because they are the only ones with any money these days). Perhaps even more ominously, ‘the people’ would discover all that money they thought they’d salted away for themselves (as, for example Social Security and annuities) was actually nothing more than “debts that can’t be repaid (and) won’t be”.

    • Steven

More questions… I believe that in addition to Treasury debt and US politicians, e.g. the Clintons, the Saudis have been permitted to purchase significant ownership positions in US and Western media (the NYT?) I know there is some concern among those who formulate US ‘financial diplomacy’ that unless Russia and China are brought to heel, the status of the US dollar as the world’s premier reserve currency may be at risk.

So the question here is: who is really in charge of US foreign policy, US and Western bankers or their Saudi customers?

  • da6675

Nikki Haley is a boldfaced liar and a stooge of the neocons. She is a disgrace to international diplomacy.
Only the most poorly informed will believe another set of lies by the Deep State in DC.

    • The “most poorly informed” constitute a majority of the Trump administration.

WELT AM SONNTAG presents a chat protocol of a security advisor and an active American soldier on duty at a key base in the region. It is between a security adviser and an active US American soldier on duty on a key operational base about the events in Khan Sheikhoun. Abbreviations: American soldier (AS) and Security Advisor (SA). WELT AM SONNTAG is aware of the location of the deployment.

    April 6, 2017

American Soldier: We got a fuckin‘ problem

Security-Adviser: What happened? Is it the Trump ignoring the Intel and going to try to hit the Syrians? And that we’re pissing on the Russians?

AS: This is bad…Things are spooling up.

SA: You may not have seen trumps press conference yesterday. He’s bought into the media story without asking to see the Intel. We are likely to get our asses kicked by the Russians. Fucking dangerous. Where are the godamn adults? The failure of the chain of command to tell the President the truth, whether he wants to hear it or not, will go down in history as one of our worst moments.

AS: I don’t know. None of this makes any sense. We KNOW that there was no chemical attack. The Syrians struck a weapons cache (a legitimate military target) and there was collateral damage. That’s it. They did not conduct any sort of a chemical attack.

AS: And now we’re shoving a shit load of TLAMs (tomahawks) up their ass.

SA: There has been a hidden agenda all along. This is about trying to ultimately go after Iran. What the people around Trump do not understand is that the Russians are not a paper tiger and that they have more robust military capability than we do.

AS: I don’t know what the Russians are going to do. They might hang back and let the Syrians defend their own borders, or they might provide some sort of tepid support, or they might blow us the fuck out of the airspace and back into Iraq. I honestly don’t know what to expect right now. I feel like anything is possible. The russian air defense system is capable of taking out our TLAMs. this is a big fucking deal…we are still all systems go…

SA: You are so right. Russia is not going to take this lying down

SA: Who is pushing this? Is it coming from Votel (General Joseph L. Votel, Commander of United States Central Command, editor‘s note) ?

AS: I don’t know. It’s from someone big though. . . . This is a big fucking deal.

AS: It has to be POTUS.

AS: They [the russians] are weighing their options. Indications are they are going to be passive supporters of syria and not engage their systems unless their own assets are other words, the sky is fucking blue.’

    April 7, 2017

SA: What are the Russians doing or saying Am I correct that we did little real damage to Russia or Syria?

AS: We didn’t hit a damn thing, thankfully. They retrograded all their aircraft and personnel. We basically gave them a very expensive fireworks display.

AS: They knew where ships were and watched the entire strike from launch to end game.

AS: The Russians are furious. Claiming we have the real Intel and know the truth about the weapons depot strike.

    AS: They are correct.

AS: I guess it really didn’t matter whether we elected Clinton or Trump. Fuck.

AS: No one is talking about the entire reason we’re in Iraq and Syria in the first place. That mission is fucked now.

SA: Are any of your colleagues pissed or is everyone going along with it and saying this is OK

AS: It’s a mad house. . . .Hell we even told the Russians an hour before impact

SA: But they clearly knew it was coming

    AS: Oh of course

AS: Now Fox is saying we chose to hit the Syrian airfield because it is where the chemical attacks were launched from. Wow. Can’t make this shit up.

SA: They are. I mean, making it up

    AS: It’s so fuckin evil

    SA: Amen!!!

    April 8, 2017

AS: Russians are being extremely reasonable. Despite what the news is reporting they are still trying to deconflict and coordinate the air campaign.

SA: I don’t think the russia yet understands how crazy Trump is over this. And i don’t think we appreciate how much damage the Russians can do to us.

AS: They’re showing amazing restraint and been unbelievably calm. They seem mostly interested in de-escalating everything. They don’t want to lose our support in the help with destroying Isis.

SA: But I get the get the feeling are simply trying this approach for as long as they feel it might work. If we keep pushing this current aggressive stance they’re going to hit back.’

The answer lies in the PNAC papers which sets out the principles by which the US Foreign Policy dominating the world over the next century. Where does Israel fit in all of this? Well, most of the authors of the PNAC papers were dual citizen Israeli-Americans. Do not be naive that the Greater Israel Project is not a part of the hidden ME agenda. Israel said that armed opposition groups were probably responsible but that its forces fired on Syrian military positions to stress that Syria was responsible for security on its side of the ceasefire line.Israel wants to steal and occupy even larger parts of Syria than the parts of the Golan heights it illegally holds. It pays al-Qaeda and supports it by fire to achieve that.” Nikki H. fulfills her duties as the master deceiver for the Mafia Empire while POTUS believes everything from the FOX News narrative. The US tax payer continues to fund this fraudulent madness.

US intervention, overt and covert, has toppled a series of legitimate governments in the Latin American region since the 1950s. The Naomi Naomi Klein wrote in Shock Doctrine detailing how the US sabotaged the democratically elected Chilean government of Salvador Allende who was ousted by a US backed coup in 1973 and replaced by the military dictatorship of General Pinochet. Guatemala, Panama, Nicaragua, Honduras and El Salvador have all been invaded by the United States.
John Pilger interviews several ex-CIA agents who took part in secret campaigns against democratic countries in the region. He investigates the School of the Americas in the US state of Georgia, where Pinochet’s torture squads were trained along with tyrants and death squad leaders in Haiti, El Salvador, Brazil and Argentina.
The film “The War On Democracy” unearths the real story behind the attempted overthrow of Venezuela’s President Hugo Chávez in 2002 and how the people of the barrios of Caracas rose up to force his return to power.
It also looks at the wider rise of populist governments across South America lead by indigenous leaders intent on loosening the shackles of Washington and a fairer redistribution of the continent’s natural wealth. Please wake up America it may be time for the pitchforks before that old green Argentina Ford Falcon pulls up in the driveway? America has become a big fat serial liar and mass murderer Mafia style. Take your country back before its too late. Assad was sabotaged by the US Foreign Policy misfits that gave us 9/11.

  • Harold Smith

Trump, the Zionist candidate of choice, an overzealous PNAC warmonger, is a Trojan horse that we let inside the gates.

The 2016 presidential election was perhaps the most brazen psyop ever conducted against the people of the U.S. Hillary lost the election because she was supposed to lose.

Hillary’s political career was already over with (before the election). She was politically “all used up”; that is, obsolete, and couldn’t be reinvented into anything useful under the circumstances.

But in the 2016 presidential election, Hillary Clinton was very useful as an actor whose carefully crafted role was to make Trump look reasonable by comparison – mainly in the realm of foreign policy, and especially in regard to relations with Russia.

Hillary Clinton was a natural for her role as herself: a wild-eyed madwoman, slavishly obedient to the Zionist madmen and intent on confrontation, particularly confrontation with Russia, regardless of consequences.

In contrast to Clinton, Trump’s role was that of the protagonistic “why can’t we all just get along (especially with nuclear armed Russia) reasonable person. Considering that Trump was “independently wealthy” (and ostensibly not dependent on political donations); a loving father and grandfather; a “successful” businessman (with lots to lose in an unnecessary nuclear war); and finally, an apparent political “outsider” with a history of questioning Obama’s improprieties; Trump was a natural for the role he played. It was all so “plausible”.

This is why the Zionist madmen didn’t run Sanders against Trump: because Sanders, as corrupt as he may be, stood a better chance against Trump than Clinton did, in large part because he wasn’t seen as a wild-eyed, maniacal warmonger who would risk WW3 for the Zionist agenda.

The Zionist strategy in 2016 apparently harkens back to the strategy used by the Zionist-controlled Johnson campaign in 1964 against Barry Goldwater, with wild-eyed maniac Hillary Clinton standing in for Goldwater.

Back then, the Johnson campaign used the famous “Daisy” attack ad to graphically show the American electorate what would happen in the event of a Goldwater victory:

According to Wikipedia, this strategy was considered to be an important factor in Johnson’s landslide victory over Goldwater:

“‘Daisy’, sometimes known as ‘Daisy Girl’ or ‘Peace, Little Girl’, was a controversial political advertisement aired on television during the 1964 United States presidential election by incumbent president Lyndon B. Johnson’s campaign. Though only aired once (by the campaign), it is considered to be an important factor in Johnson’s landslide victory over Barry Goldwater and an important turning point in political and advertising history. It remains one of the most controversial political advertisements ever made.”

Of course the Zionist madmen didn’t really need to make an updated version of the video, because most sentient people today understand full well what the consequences of a war with Russia would be, especially a nuclear war. And these are the people that the Zionist madmen depended on to swing the election to their candidate of choice, Trump.

I believe this is why Obama decided to seriously ramp up tensions with Russia in the early fall of 2016, as the presidential campaign reached a climax, giving the electorate a little taste of what would happen if the wrong person won. And the message was clear: Either vote for Trump or vote for nuclear war.

    • freewheelinfranklin543

I think he’s got it! And all the libtard opposition, is to shore up Trump’s support.

I’m not a Trump supporter (although I did vote for him, in CA), but if he is a PNAC, Neocon, Zionist Trojan Horse, he did a great job of hiding that information all these years. For not being a politician, he was about as public a persona as anyone could be. How could he hide proclivities like that without anyone getting even a whiff?

Sorry, I’m not buying your analysis. Hillary Clinton was indeed a horrible candidate, but she had to work hard to lose. She had every advantage and, if she simply showed a little humanity, she would have rolled Trump like everyone thought she would have.

If Hillary Clinton was “supposed” to lose, she cut it awfully close, which tells me that those supposedly pulling the strings didn’t really have everything all figured out, as you suppose.

But, I’ll sort of agree with you on one point, and that is the Establishment usually has two candidates in the race. One of them will win. Trump’s moves since the inauguration tell me that he has either been rolled, or he was just telling people what they wanted to hear.

As the late, great Lee Rodgers always said, “Don’t ever fall in love with a politician. They’ll break your heart every time.” For myself, I have voted in my last presidential election. I thought this time would be different. I have learned a valuable lesson in trusting my instincts and anarchist leanings. Nobody can solve this mess. Our eventual fall (crash?) is baked into the cake.

      • Harold Smith

“I’m not a Trump supporter (although I did vote for him, in CA), but if he is a PNAC, Neocon, Zionist Trojan Horse, he did a great job of hiding that information all these years. For not being a politician, he was about as public a persona as anyone could be. How could he hide proclivities like that without anyone getting even a whiff?”

As a private citizen, it would be hard for Trump to order missile strikes on Syria, for example, right? Maybe that’s why nobody noticed?

Seriously, tell me, why did he decide to run for president at the age of 70 in the first place? Just for the vacations and other great perks? He ran as an opponent to the “globalists” who was going to “drain the swamp”
and “make america great again”, accordingly, but instead we got “Obama on steroids”.

How do you talk someone out of trying to save their country and instead talk him into destroying it? Going from a “non-interventionist” who wants to cooperate with Russia in Syria to a warmongering madman who’s willing to risk nuclear war with Russia over the issue of who rules Syria – is quite a substantial change of heart, wouldn’t you say? It’s not like choosing vanilla ice cream rather than chocolate.

Sorry but I’m not buying your implication that he simply changed his mind.

        • No Rulers

What I am saying is that he gave no inclinations that these would be his policies. And, these policies directly contradict his own statements on the campaign trail.

We can quibble over whether he was lying then or lying now. We both agree that his policies are a turn, not for better, but for worse.

And, I find it hard to believe that he was the Establishment’s back-up plan when every Establishment organ was telling us that he was a clown, and he couldn’t win, right up to the very eve of the election.

Maybe there are real threats on his life or the lives of his family. Maybe that’s why he was so easily turned. Whatever the reason, he has definitely turned.

We really don’t have a disagreement over the substance. We simply disagree over the means.

A newly-released Hilary Clinton email confirmed that the Obama administration has deliberately provoked the civil war in Syria as the “best way to help Israel.”… The document was one of many unclassified by the US Department of State under case number F-2014-20439, Doc No. C05794498, following the uproar over Clinton’s private email server kept at her house while she served as Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013.

I’ll go on record right now that, because of this edict and the explicit threat behind it, another chemical weapon incident will happen, probably within a couple of weeks. And it will carried out by those who stand the most to gain from such an incident, which, surely, is not Assad. Blame will be assigned to Assad, however, in the face of overwhelming conflicting evidence.

I was thinking to myself just last night that the Democrats aren’t the only one who have an obsession with Russia. The Republicans do, too. This, after hearing about Secretary Mattis saying that the threat to Western Europe is as great now as it was during the Cold War. This is clearly insane. Who is threatening Western Europe at this time? Certainly not the Russians. Maybe he had the Jihadis in mind? Nah, they’re our friends.

I grow more disenchanted with Trump every day because he is allowing cowboys like Mattis to run amok, trashing Trump’s promise to tone down anti-Russian rhetoric, and bring NATO to heel. He is either being slowly co-opted, or he never meant what he said on the campaign trail.
