Intelligence Officer Who Personally Met the Democratic Email Leaker Confirms Leaker Is with AMERICAN Intelligence Service … Not Russia

An American Leaker – Not Russian Hacker – Gave the Democratic Party Emails to Wikileaks

The former intelligence analyst, British Ambassador to Uzbekistan, and chancellor of the University of Dundee, Craig Murray, wrote yesterday:

As Julian Assange has made crystal clear, the leaks did not come from the Russians. As I have explained countless times, they are not hacks, they are insider leaks – there is a major difference between the two.

I know who leaked them. I’ve MET the person who leaked them, and they are certainly not Russian and it’s an insider. It’s a leak, not a hack; the two are different things.

In other words, Murray – a close friend of Julian Assange – says he knows for a fact that there were no hacks at all … instead, an American insider leaked the information to Wikileaks.

Today, Murray writes:

If you set up the super surveillance state, hoovering up all the internet traffic of pretty well everybody, that is not just going to affect the ordinary people whom the elite despise. There is also going to be an awful lot of traffic intercepted from sleazy members of the elite connected to even the most senior politicians, revealing all their corruption and idiosyncracies. From people like John Podesta, to take an entirely random example. And once the super surveillance state has intercepted and stored all that highly incriminating material, you never know if some decent human being, some genuine patriot, from within the security services is going to feel compelled to turn whistleblower.

Than they might turn for help to, to take another entirely random example, Julian Assange.

This confirms what the NSA executive who created the agency’s mass surveillance program for digital information, who served as the senior technical director within the agency, who managed six thousand NSA employees, the 36-year NSA veteran widely regarded as a “legend” within the agency and the NSA’s best-ever analyst and code-breaker, who mapped out the Soviet command-and-control structure before anyone else knew how, and so predicted Soviet invasions before they happened (“in the 1970s, he decrypted the Soviet Union’s command system, which provided the US and its allies with real-time surveillance of all Soviet troop movements and Russian atomic weapons”) – previously said:  the leaker was from U.S. intelligence services. And see this.

And Murray confirmed to Washington’s Blog by email that Binney “was on the mark.”

In other words, Russia did not hack the Democratic party emails.  Instead, an American intelligence whistleblower leaked them.

It wouldn’t be the first time.

Update: David Swanson interviewed Murray today, and obtained additional information. Specifically, Murray told Swanson that: (1) there were two American leakers … one of the emails of the Democratic National Committee and one of the emails of top Clinton aide John Podesta; (2) Murray met one of those leakers; and (3) both leakers are American insiders with the NSA and/or the DNC, with no known connections to Russia.

And see this.

Postscript: As we’ve pointed out for years, the NSA is collecting all digital communications – including emails- in America.

The NSA then shares this information with numerous other agencies, including the FBI, DEA, etc.

We’ve noted that the NSA’s big data collection itself . Remember, the Pentagon itself sees the collection of “big data” as a “national security threat” … but the NSA is the biggest data collector on the planet, and thus provides a tempting mother lode of information for foreign hackers.

And we’ve documented that the Obama administration has prosecuted more whistleblowers than all other presidents combined.

It sounds like this witches brew of bad policy is what led to the Democratic email leaks from an insider in the American intelligence services.

But if anyone wants to try to prove Murray and Binney wrong, it should be easy to check.

I little late to come out now, when the electoral college is about to be stolen and civil war breaks out in America.

    • Seer Clearly

hyperbole much? We’re at least 20 years from the civil war you speak of. Not that long, but not tomorrow. And there are lots of possibilities for avoiding it.

Dude, I’m a former paramedic. There were LRFR guys ready to pick me up if Hillary stole the election.

Have a cup a coffee, and try reality. Either way, don’t worry, the sheepdogs got this, you can stay and dream if you want.

The sheepdogs are still watching and are prepared. There is a REAL fight in the US government. The rogue side is on the run.

Is he speaking about Seth Rich, as being the inside leak?

    • mike

I’m thinking he is. That’s why there is nobody that the Dems want to crucify who is American. So they conveniently blame Russian hackers. Their party knows no bounds when it comes to being mud dwelling gutter trash.

    • JCDavis

If it is Seth Rich, then there should be a murder investigation, with the CIA being the chief suspect.

  • Strayhorse

Can you imagine the disgust Americans would have been asked to display had Hillary won and Trump was complaining that the Democrats and Hillary used the Russians to spy on Trump? The time is here America, everyone is spying on everyone and everyone is passing on false news. It has been going on for 20 years, so why is everyone complaining now? Time though for Trump to CLEAN HOUSE.

Are we supposed to take Murray’s word as proof any more than we are to believe the nasties who would love to overturn the election results? While Murray’s words may sound about right it might well have been a hack from Trump’s IT people or who knows who. Despite all the noise, just perhaps those involved in alternative media investigations should keep on the actual emails and hidden content within those emails and ignore this deceptive diversion and let the two political camps play their game of thrones as of no real consequence to ‘continuity of agenda’ as one replaces the other at privileged positions at the trough?

    • quantumcipher

I would take his word over an ‘anonymous source’ at the CIA (who are known liars and criminals) any day.

      • Randomised

Yes – not to mention the strong desire in the DNC to blame everyone but themselves for Trump’s win.

Craig Murray has a habit of telling inconvenient truths. Check him out before doubting his integrity.

      • CPANDF

podesta has shot himself in the foot. He is admitting the emails that were leaked to Wikileaks were true! in one of those emails-they actually planned to tie Trump to the Russians to attack him IF all else failed. They’re digging a bigger hole.

      • ICFubar

Murray is a politician. Murray wants an independent Scotland to remain within the E.U..
I trust no one’s ‘word’ unless all their cards are on the table and they have verifiable evidence. The whole ‘who leaked’ what is taking everyone’s eye off the ball as a diversion as to what the leaks actually contain. Propornot is all part of this ploy.

    • CPANDF

Assange made the same assertion. He’s said it over and over that it was not a Russian LEAK. let’s be clear about this too.ppl are confusing leak with hack. We know that Hillary had a private ILLEGAL server in her home that very likely was hacked by several foreign entities. Not necessarily the Russians but can’t rule them out-and probably several other foreign entities as well. We know for a fact there was a good chance she was hacked because the server was vulnerable but nothing verifiable. If they did hack i doubt it would have been to get the skinny on an election. Now the leak is another matter. Someone got hold of these documents and LEAKED them to wikileaks. those had plenty to do with the campaign machinations. That was an INSIDE JOB. Someone KNEW there was hanky panky going on or was suspicious of it enough to know there was some underhanded-even illegal-crap going on in the Clinton Campaign. These are the Clintons after all.Look at all the corruption and she got away with it Maybe that’s why the inside job. The LEAKER knew how deep the corruption went and decided to step up and leak to wikileaks. I doubt Putin cares how corrupt our government is. That’s not to say the Russians didn’t hack Clinton’s server. Keep in mind we’re talking about 2 different things here. A hack and a leak are 2 different things. Also remember that Wikieaks and Assange go out of their way to check out the veracity of a leak. They CARE about their rep. They vet the stories and if possible they vet the leaker. It has to be a very trusted source .There’s a lot at stake for them.If you question Murray that’s one thing If you question Assange that’s another.Assange took a heck of a chance doing this-Hilary decided he should be killed by a drone strike. She must have had a lot to protect. Then they sent John Kerry over to get his internet cut off Pretty serious wouldn’t you say?

      • ICFubar

Aye. Wikileaks has so far been a trusted source and has to my knowledge shielded their sources. We actually have three sets of revelations now. The hack, the leak and the Abedin-Weiner lap top. All the noise is acting as a diversion to the examination and further investigation of these sources on corruption in high circles. Murray could be seen as a sidebar to the importance of this information.

4Chan could have told you it was not the Russians i’ve known for years it was an inside job
proxy isp’s track to russia also vpn’s were used to make look from afar

  • cretins

But,but, but Obama just said last night in an interview with Trevor from The Daily Show that it was the Russians…Obama wouldn’t lie would he?

  • Dec 13, 2016 – The Abnormalization of Dissent

The spin, lies, manipulation and deceptions are coming so fast and thick it’s increasingly difficult to document them all, let alone analyze them. But in the broad sweep of recent events we can see a common theme emerging: the abnormalization of dissent. And when political ideology boils down to nothing more than “real” and “fake” the control of political discourse through language itself is almost complete. Can outright censorship be far behind?

    Good article. Thank you WB.

  • JCDavis

It is time to demand that each of the 17 agencies that James Clapper said independently confirmed the Russians were behind this now show their evidence to the public. James Clapper is a notorious liar who lied under oath to Congress, so he cannot be believed, and these new claims suggest that all of this was a fraud by Obama and his smarmy crew of spooks. And if it is a fraud, the heads of all these agencies should be fired immediately.

  • Theoldlady

What about the 400 pound hacker Trump talks about? Does he exist? He does on Twitter and says he loves hacking government sites. He is also a Bernie Sanders supporter.
