My Anti-Racist Comments on Israel

By Craig Murray, former British ambassador to Uzbekistan and Rector (i.e. president) of the University of Dundee. Craigmurray.org.uk.

I was accused on Sky News of making comments attacking the Jewish tribe. Ripped from its context, the remark appeared so offensive I could not conceive I had ever made it. I find now that in fact I did say it, but in the context of a specific remark by an Israeli minister making a claim that the Israeli Prime Minister leads all Jews worldwide. My remark was part of a post attacking all racism. They could equally well have taken the quote “I wish nothing but good to all people, including all Jewish people” out of the post.

To be absolutely open, I repeat the post here:

Israeli economics minister Naftali Bennett has claimed of Binyamin Netanyahu that “The prime minister is not a private person but the leader of the Jewish state and the whole Jewish world.” Really? Netanyahu is the leader of all the Jews in London, or California, or Ethiopia, who may never have set foot in his state?

This extraordinary remark by Bennett lays bare the fundamental flaw in the very concept of Israel. It is not a modern state, defined as a territory and comprising all the various citizens of whatever descent who live within it. It is rather a vicious racist construct, defined absolutely by race, refusing territorial limits, and with an aggressive theocratic overlay that claims tribal superiority over the entire rest of the world.

Here is a picture of the New Zealand cricket team. In the last twelve months, New Zealand cricket teams have fielded payers including Hamish Rutherford, Peter Fulton, Colin Munro, Dean Brownlie, Ross Taylor, Rob Nicol, Corey Anderson, Grant Elliott, Jimmy Neesham, Kyle Mills, Adam Milne and Mark Craig, not to mention the McCullum brothers. But if I told you that Alex Salmond was the leader of all Scots around the world, including the Black Caps, you would quite rightly call me a nutter.

We would not tolerate the level of racism in any other country that we tolerate from Israel. There was a huge outcry against Labour MP Paul Flynn who dared question whether it was sensible to send a strongly professed Zionist Jew as British ambassador to Israel, but when the Israeli government itself proclaim the political leadership of all Jews all over the world, it is a logical impossibility not to ask the question.

I wish nothing but good to all people, including all Jewish people, but by their increasingly hardline racialist approach, their unceasing encroachment on Palestinian land and their rigorous adoption of all the racist mechanisms of an apartheid state internally, I fear that the window of opportunity for a peaceful future for those Jewish people living in what is currently Israel is closing fast.

It must be universally proclaimed: there is not a single racial group in the whole world from whom worldwide racial claims of political allegiance, or an internal racially based legislative order, are acceptable. Bennett’s remarks are beyond the limit of civilised political discourse.

“The legend of Osiris, Isis, and Horus:
Osiris, listening to the tempter Typhon, is murdered. Isis goes in search of him. She finds him, but discovers that one part is missing. Never-theless, she conceives, and brings forth a son, Horus, who sits upon the throne of the father.
In this, read the story of the soul. The soul in the heavens listens to the voice of desire, and leaves its state of bliss and takes on the body. The one part, the god-hood state, is lost. Isis, however, which is the soul hid in the body, allows no rest, but constantly urges on and on, until, at last, man, or the mind of man, listens to the urge, and gradually the Son is born, or the Soul awakens; and, when the Soul grows to strength, to manhood, to power, to Illumination, it sits in the place of the Father. This is the story of the Soul.”

“The foundation of the Egyptian Mysteries was based on the knowledge of those who instituted the Mysteries. They taught that the Soul had originally existed in a pure, sinless state, that it then fell from its original purity and innocence, and gravitated from the form of a spiritual essence into a material body. Realizing its reduced status, its chief concern, the aim and scope of all earthly creatures (man), was to pass through successive states of experiences — sufferings and joys — purifications and exaltations — back to the original fellowship with Deity.”

I don’t know whether anybody in the US is following the current brouhaha in the UK over former mayor of London Ken Livingstone’s supposedly anti-Semitic remarks, for which he’s been subjected to a ritual screaming and suspended from the Labour party. The essence of his remarks was that prominent Zionist Jews and Nazi party officials in the 1930s collaborated to remove Jews from Germany.

This remark is in fact a matter of historical record. (https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjQgYeMpbTMAhVP4GMKHbDgBIgQFggcMAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FHaavara_Agreement&usg=AFQjCNGfkLxBUoBhgtFsppw8e4IHEdJ9rg&sig2=BMFCR7r11oAthfzxRFSMfA&bvm=bv.121070826,d.cGc) He’s also been in trouble for supporting the Palestinians. Just like former Labourite and former MP George Galloway. Ain’t anti-Semitism wonderful?

London ex-Mayor Ken Livingstone, 70, was suspended by Labour Party under pressure from country’s powerful anti-Corbyn Jewish Lobby for claiming that Adolf Hitler was a Zionist. He made the remarks in defense of Pakistan-born Labour MP Naz Shah, who was suspended a day earlier over a Facebook post in 2014 suggesting Israelis should be moved en masse to the United States.

Personally, I agree with Livingstone to some degree. Adolf Hitler like Adolf Eichmann was a ‘Closet Zionist’. German author Hennecke Kardel in his 1974 book, Adolf Hitler: Founder of Israel, wrote: Anyone who does not want to know in detail about Hitler’s half Jewish alcoholic father, whom he dragged home from the ugly, shameful, stinky and smoky bars, and who does not want to know about Hitler’s endlessly psychotic hatred toward his kinsmen, will understand little about history of the twentieth century, about the creation of the State of Israel, and about oncoming events which will make us hold our breaths.

It is not the historical fact that makes him a liar but what he says about the facts. Just because Zionists negotiated with Hitler to get Jews out of Germany ( for a price ) does not make Hitler a Zionist any more than it makes President Abbas a Zionist just because he negotiates with Israel. The cleverest and most misleading lies are usually based on partial fact.

As a member of the Knesset — I forget her name — said about the charge of “anti-semitism”: “It’s a trick.” It changes the subject, whatever the subject is, and Israel tries to use it as a free pass to say and do whatever it wants, no matter how heinous or ludicrous. It’s time for the world to stop laying along. As somebody else said, Israel uses Jews as human shields.

    • Rehmat

“Well, it’s a trick, we always use it. When from Europe somebody is criticizing Israel then we bring up the holocaust. When in this country US) people are criticizing Israel then they are antisemitic. And the organization (Israel Lobby) is very strong and has lot of money. And the ties between Israel and american estab- Jewish establishment are very strong – and they are strong in this country as you know. And they have power which is ok.” – late Israeli cabinet minister, Shulamit Aloni during her August 14, 2002 interview with Amy Goodman of Democracy Now!

Anti semitism is not the point here. The point is, he lied blatently on television by denying what he now admits saying. He has sugar coated it only because he was caught out.

      • Eol Awki

He didn’t ‘sugar coat’ it. He merely re-posted the entire comment to include the context, which he rightfully said was missing.

        • Dafydd

He denied a comment which he now owns, openly , yes. He sugarcoats it by saying it was ripped out of context. But nasty comments, like violence, deserve no context.

Everything Craig is saying today was said over two decades ago by Richard Childers – and he was unlawfully terminated by Oracle Corporation as a consequence.

Too late, Murray. You cannot possibly have forgotten what you said, and you vigorously denied it. You have only made this vain attempt to clarify what you already knew, because you were caught out. You fool no one apart from those who wish to be fooled.

    • Nick Smegg

Presumably Dafydd you support Jewish racial supremacy.

      • Dafydd

My comment was about liars. I certainly do not support people who deny what they say and backtrack when they are caught out. Since his cause is against “Jewish racial supremacy” he does this cause no good to be a proven liar on television. However, we should be thankful for his blunder, as it exposes his concern for Palestinians for what it is – a conduit for his visceral hatred of a particular group of people.

        • Nick Smegg

He didn’t lie – presumably, like the rest of the Tribe, you are guilty of projecting your psycopathy onto others.

          • Dafydd

He lied demonstrably for the world to see. As to your last remark, it reflects far more about the one who made it ( as such remarks usually do)

          • Nick Smegg

Without having a window into his soul you are simply asserting that he lied. It is not at all obvious, as you are saying. In searching for a reason as to why you are obsessively posting and re-posting about Mr Murray’s supposed lies I am looking for an answer and the Freudian (Jewish) notion of projection is the best explanation I can find.

          • Dafydd

You apparently did not hear the interview. As for windows into the soul, your own words reveal quite enough about yours without any need for Freudian references, about which you are likely manifestly ignorant.

        • Eol Awki

He never said that he did ot say it. If you look closely, he couldn’t believe he say that because it had been taken out of context. He knew he said it, but it being presented out of context made it appear to be a vicious statement, when in fact it wasn’t.

When he says that he didn’t say that, he meant it in those terms.

          • Dafydd

During the interview, he responded ” That is a lie .” Therefore , on screen, he did not own the comment. Besides, a context for any racist statement does not make it any less vicious.

          • Eol Awki

Out of context it might appear racist. It is certainly not racist if taken in context. Context is everything. Anyone knows that. Why don’t you? – unless you are on some kind of ideological mission, of course…. 😉

          • Dafydd

The context to which I refer is not merely a linguistic one giving meaning to an isolated statement. It is putting forward a scenario in which a certain action or statement is given justification. No evil action in word or deed deserves this sort of context. But apart from this, the statement is highly racist even when read in it’s linguistic context – glaringly so. There are some statements in it that are even worse in essence than the one under discussion.
