Cian Westmoreland is a former Air Force technician who served in Kandahar Air Field, Afghanistan at the 73rd Expeditionary Air Control Squadron. He assisted in building a signal relay station that was used for transmitting and receiving data, radio, and radar picture for unmanned and manned missions for approximately 250,000 square miles over Afghanistan. In a report provided to him after his tour, he was credited with assisting in 2,400 close air support missions and 200+ kills of supposed enemies. The UNAMA report for that year, 2009, claimed however that this number also included 359 civilians killed in airstrikes. Westmoreland discusses his experience.

Thank you David Swanson and Cian Westmoreland. Fascinating listening — a man with a soul — who thinks — inarticulately articulate. His survey of combat behavior and response is profoundly to the point.

“Basic training” was created after research during WWII showed that in combat one citizen draftee soldier in ten actually fired his weapon to any effect.

“linguistic distortions of reality” is a universally useful tool for thinking.

Thank God for brave men and women, without them we are sunk.

Reality distorted by words is a crucial point. Humanity is being crushed by the universality of ‘English As A Foreign Language’ and its neocon/lib worldview into which every other language is ‘translated’ .

The experience and intelligence of all of our ancestors from every nation is diminished into MSMspeak, limiting intellectual and emotional possibilities.

It’s a deliberate and evil attempt to close the ears of the mind and heart.
