Tom Petty Releases New Song on Refugee Crisis

We done somethin’ we both know it
We don’t talk too much about it
Yeah it ain’t no real big secret all the same
Somehow we get around it
Iraq wasn’t really hiding WMD baby
We believed what we want to believe
You see the wars are what make all the refugees
… the wars are what make all the refugees

Somewhere, somehow somebody
Liberated you from your home
Now you’re on the move to survive
Far from the graves of your loved ones
Libya’s hell since we killed Gadaffi baby
Everybody’s dead or hurt, not free
You see the wars are what make all the refugees
… the wars are what make all the refugees

Baby this ain’t the first
Bombs fixed a million lands by making em worse
The latest lie seems real to you
But it’s one of those things
You gotta die to make true

Somewhere, somehow somebody
Liberated you from your home
Who knows, maybe you were kidnapped
Tied up, taken away and held for ransom
It won’t make it on the BBC baby
But everybody’s dead or hurt, not free
You see the wars are what make all the refugees
… the wars are what make all the refugees

(apologies to Tom Petty who actually had nothing to do with this)

  • May 24, 2015 War Propaganda: “Planting Stories” in the News Chain

This article was first published in January 2003, two months before the invasion of Iraq. It was subsequently integrated into my book entitled America’s “War on Terrorism”, Global Research 2005.

The buzzwords of media disinformation at the time of writing were “Osama bin Laden” and “Weapons of Mass Destruction”. The central buzzwords of war propaganda have shifted since the “official death” of Osama bin Laden in 2011. Today the media buzzwords are the Islamic State, ISIS, ISIL, jihad, Islamic terrorists.

Better, but the meme still has to be more clearly, “Stop making wars, save the refugees”.

So far all MSM is getting is ‘save the refugees’, and even that seems to be quieting down. Back-room bozos must be suddenly realizing how close to popular realization the most obvious solution is.

  • Collecting charitable individual gathered hundreds of thousands of dollars, and when employees of companies of national industries (Qatar Petroleum, for example) were asked if they agree to be retained a part of their salary every month for Syrian refugees, everyone has shown goodwill. In total, the Arab Gulf states gathered about 900 million dollars through charities and individual donations.
