Mainstream U.S. Writers Call for Supporting Al Qaeda and ISIS

At Best, An Insanely Stupid Policy

Sure, America’s closest allies support ISIS.

And admittedly, the U.S. has repeatedly fumbled, so that arms got into Al Qaeda and ISIS’ hands. Here, here, here, here, here and here.

And poor U.S. policies have undoubtedly created more terrorists then they’ve neutralized.

And it’s true that the U.S. knowingly supported Al Qaeda in Libya in order to topple Gaddaffi. But that was on the QT.

But now – for the first time – mainstream flacks are publicly calling for the United States of America to support ISIS and Al Qaeda …

Initially, Barak Mendelsohn – an Associate Professor of Political Science at Haverford College, a Senior Fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute, and a five year veteran of the Israeli army – argues in the Council on Foreign Relations’ publication Foreign Affairs  that the U.S. should support Al Qaeda … as a way to counter ISIS:

The instability in the Middle East following the Arab revolutions and the meteoric rise of the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) require that Washington rethink its policy toward al Qaeda, particularly its targeting of Zawahiri.

Destabilizing al Qaeda at this time may in fact work against U.S. efforts to defeat ISIS.

Many mainstream players are suggesting that Al Nusra – the main Al Qaeda group in Syria – “re-brand”, so that it can pretend it is moderate … and so receive direct U.S. backing. See this, this, this, this, this and this.

Not to be outdone, influential New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman asks if we should arm ISIS to counter Iranian influence.

At best, this is an insanely stupid strategy.

The way I see it, this is all aimed at presenting Iran as the biggest threat in preparation for bombing that country, whether by Israel alone or in conjunction with the US and possibly KSA, who have already acceded their airspace for that purpose, I believe. Not to mention it’s becoming accepted by more and people that we’ve been arming terrorists all along, so this is a way to blunt those revelations as hey, it ain’t such a big deal, Iran and “Shiitevdeath squads” are threatening Sunni civilians and we need to protect them. By arming terrorists. Oh and JAN put a new patch on their sleeves, no longer official Team al Queda, and that makes them magically moderate. Must be tiring arming all these guys covertly, it’s easier to just trick the American public into accepting it. That says a lot right there.

Iran is after Yemen. Hopefully, there will be a revolt in America before it happens. The Taxpayers will not allow another war. That’s why the zio US gov will get Saudi Arabia and other patsies to do their work right now. Then, when Iran defends themselves, the US and Israel will say: “SEE!! They ARE terrorists!”.
Time for arrest warrants for everyone in the US gov who supports Israel and who are Zionists. These are foreign terrorist traitors.

Well, we got the USS Roosevelt streaming in right now too help out with the blockade (of food and medicine and other aid), accusations of Iranian arming of the Houthis (nothing found on boarded vessels so far).. Tony Cartalucci among others had always said the deal was nothing but a set-up per Brookings “Which Path to Persia?”, and William Blum is claiming that we’re going to bomb Iran eventually in an interview on Global Research just a day or two ago. Bad timing for a revolution with Jade Helm going on eh? Oh and then there’s the republican presidential candidates all weighing in on where they stand regarding Cotton’s bomb-Iran-for-a-few-days theory like some kind of litmus test for their zio-hawk credentials. Crazy.

“El Big Daddy”, AKA Simon Elliot, must be laughing his butt off. We need to send Sen. McArnold over to Syria to push the ‘reset’ button and rename Al Nusra into the “Moderate Islamic Terrorist Front”, so we can leave a billion’s worth of armament’s into their hands as a ‘pass off’ to ISIS. The REAL terrorists are sitting ‘in chamber’ in DC.

  • spirittoo

Repeatedly fumbled??? Really? What a bunch of crap … the us didn’t fumble they GAVE THEM THE ARMS. That is not a “fumble”. It was deliberate. Wake up.

  • Rehmat

The so-called “mainstream writers” are either belong to AIPAC or CIA. Therefore, they have to support ISIS, because ISIS/ISIL is a US-Israel-Saudi creation.

“I know what America is. America is a thing you can move very easily,” Benjamin Netanyahu, 2001.

In August 2014,, a senior official at the Dutch Justice Ministry in Twitter message claimed that the so-called “Islamic State of Iraq and Syria” is a Zionist plot, funded by the US and Israel to demonize Islam.

Yasmina Haifi, a project leader at the ministry’s National Cyber Security Center, posted on Twitter: “ISIS has nothing to do with Islam. It’s part of a plan by Zionist who are deliberately trying to blacken Islam’s name.”

The message really pissed off the powerful pro-Israel lobby groups. MPs belonging to the anti-Islam and anti-immigration Geert Wilders Party for Freedom (PVV) demanded that the Justice Minister explain how a person with such anti-Semitic views reached such a prominent position in the Ministry.

When western leaders and media writers are openly supporting ISIS. you know we are on the wrong side. That our side has lost, both militarily and morally.

It’s time to use the punishment of ISIS that we promised. All ISIS leaders and supporters

Seems the insanity is spreading far and wide!

    • Dr Smileyface

That’s the real meaning of “broadcast” – hence the importance of a wholly-owned media.

  • Occams

Dude – get your facts straight. Al Qaeda and ISIS were created, armed, trained, funded, and supplied by the good ‘ol USA.

ISIS to remove Assad, since he has oil and no Rothschild’s Central Bank, like all the other ‘terrorist’ or ‘rogue’ nations; Iran and N.Korea. Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan do now.

Shill-like articles that refuse to OUT the truth – but ‘pretend’ to ‘out’ our government’s follies as if thei heart is in the right place.

Just like shill-Snowden. For those of you that think I’m joking, look up ‘Limited Hangout Op’ and you will understand Snowden – and articles like this, and I suggest you also look up ‘NSA document leaked; USA and England created ISIS’ – especially since Iraq just recently shot down 2 British cargo planes making supply runs to ISIS.

    Stop believing in these lies, people. These are Dog & Pony Shows, because this is an ORCHESTRATED SUPPORT – which is EXACTLY what Obama and his puppeteers want;

    Syria and Iran.

    100% BULLSHIT.

    ‘Axis of Evil’; USA/UK/Israel

Who better to direct American foreign policy than a veteran of the Israeli army? That groaning rumble is Washington rolling over in his grave.

  • desertspeaks

hmm the us gvt via the cia created al qaeda and we can be certain they created isis, they are also funding and supplying isis.. remind me, who are the terrorists again??

  • Occams

I think this sums it up quite nicely….

  • Greg Burton

Remember “Al Qaeda”? We Were Told “Al Qaeda” Attacked the US on 9/11? “Al Qaeda” was the Pretext for: Homeland Security. The PATRIOT Act. Iraq Invasion. Afghanistan. CIA Torture. Wiretaps. Now We are told “Al Qaeda” is Our Ally? Just Wake Up!

  • LeseMajeste

The war in Iraq was conceived by 25 neoconservative intellectuals, most of them Jewish, who are pushing President Bush to change the course of history. Two of them, journalists William Kristol and Charles Krauthammer, say it’s possible.

This is a war of an elite. [Tom] Friedman laughs: I could give you the names of 25 people (all of whom are at this moment within a five-block radius of this office) who, if you had exiled them to a desert island a year and a half ago, the Iraq war would not have happened.

Yes Tommie, lying the USA into fighting wars for Israel, destroying ME nations Israel hates and getting millions killed and many millions more wounded is so funny.

  • LeseMajeste

Enough is enough, we need to bring our troops home and use the money saved to rebuild our falling apart nation and take care of our wounded vets, who evidently aren’t getting enough care, since around 7,000 commit suicide each year.

Do anyone of you think this will be on the sites of the prestitutes of the MSM.

You see, they are raving lunatic, and their religion is war and plunder.
And of course, the muslims is blamed for everything.
And the snow is a thing of the past.
Welcome to a brave new world.

How can we believe now that al-Cia-duh was the people who did 911.

Our foreign policy must be completely out of control to allow this crap t be accepted.

  • Never forget the architects of terror

  • AtomicMetroid

American militias need to form by the thousands and issue and enforce arrest warrants for all the traitors and foreign terrorists in congress. We have a severe Zionism problem. Time to talk about it.

Did we support ISIS partly to attack Al-Qaeda and undermine its influence in the Middle East? And now are we going to support Al-Qaeda in Sept. 2015 (Petraeus) partly to attack ISIS and undermine its influence in the Middle East? Could we possibly hire a 14 year old suburban white kid with pimples, who’s good at video games, to take over USA military command?

  • Sam Nelson

Mendelsohn, hmm, what would a Jew say, Jews unlike Americans support their country and murderously resist any threat that could be made toward it. Americans like to cuddle up next to their enemies, Jews just want their enemies far away from them. Which is the smarter tactic? Of course Jews have leadership that supports them, Americans have leadership that supports Jews. What about us poor old white people mister president?
