6 Times More People Currently Live In Caves In China Alone Than Lived In Caves All Over the World During the Stone Age

The Los Angeles Times reported in 2012:

More than 30 million Chinese people live in caves ….

In contrast, the global human popular during the Stone Age was 5 million people.

So there are 6 times more people living in caves in China today than lived in caves worldwide during the Stone Age.

This doesn’t mean that China is backward (and there are some really cool cave dwellings in France, Turkey and elsewhere) …

It just means that there are a lot more people alive today than there were 10,000 years ago. And that China has a huge population … almost 279 times as large as the global population during the Stone Age.

  • Maybe we should get some caves dug in D.C.

China is number one now (“We’re no longer No. 1. Today, we’re No. 2. Yes, it’s official. The
Chinese economy just overtook the United States economy to become the
    largest in the world
    “) according to Market Watch.

Good, let China have a whack at the world for a while! People will be dead before they have a chance to hate China! You thought the US didn’t give a damn. China don’t give a Fuck at break neck speed.

    That’s only like 1% of China’s population.

As a one time speilo explorer, let me tell you – most caves are awesome !! If you find caves at a reasonable depth with no water running through the ones you are using, they keep a regular temp of about 65defF no matter if it’s boiling or under 10ft of snow outside. They are snug with a small fire, which can be built hot to stop smoke (only too cool fires smoke), they can be made very secure, free of weather and attack by people. In a “bug-out” situation, a good cave is exactly where I’d be heading.
