Selma movie review: ‘What happens when a man stands up?’ Viewing yesterday and today

Two-minute movie trailer:

Selma artistically documents activists’ strategic work to realize basic human rights already legally guaranteed under the US Constitution: voting and freedom of speech.

Activism was required after government “leaders’” ongoing rejection of their Oath of office to protect and defend the US Constitution, and psychopathically attacking activists for “disturbing the peace.”

The movie has FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover advise US President Johnson that Dr. King is a “degenerate immoral animal” who the FBI could simply assassinate.

President Johnson acknowledges this power to kill US activists they don’t like, but chooses to allow the FBI to continue illegally wiretapping Dr. King, making illegal and ongoing threats against the lives of his children, his wife, and Martin via phone calls, letters, and audio tapes, and to attempt to cause Dr. King’s death by suicide.

This was one example of the US government’s obviously illegal COINTELPRO program. Selma shows activists’ work to publicly reveal US leaders’ psychopathy and illegality, and allow the light of truth to provide public choice.

Selma is powerful in all aspects for film, and enjoys a 99% approval rating.

The movie concludes with legislation redundant to the crystal-clear 15th Amendment to the US Constitution that the right to vote “shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State.” But the movie doesn’t say what Martin King’s wife (Coretta), and personal friend and attorney (Bill Pepper) later discovered from investigation of Martin’s assassination three years after Selma:

The US government had military snipers ordered to assassinate Martin during the Selma march. This attempt was thwarted when Martin chose to turn his march around back to the church at the second march attempt from Selma to Montgomery (see Bill Pepper’s talk about the facts of Martin’s assassination from 29-minutes at the second of the three videos here). Selma alludes to this in its story of Martin saying this choice to retreat was to prevent his own injury, and with earlier remarks of FBI Director Hoover and President Johnson.

Martin’s life ended with a successful assassination by the US government in coordination with local government, as documented in the King Family civil trial:

Martin’s family and attorney, William F. Pepper, won the civil trial that found US government agencies guilty of assassination/wrongful death. The 1999 trial, King Family versus Jowers and Other Unknown Co-Conspirators, is the only trial ever conducted on the assassination of Dr. King. The King Center fully documents the case, with full trial transcript.

The overwhelming evidence of US government complicity found valid by the jury includes:

  • US 111th Military Intelligence Group were at Dr. King’s location during the assassination.
  • 20th Special Forces Group had an 8-man sniper team at the assassination location on that day.
  • Usual Memphis Police special body guards were advised they “weren’t needed” on the day of the assassination.
  • Regular and constant police protection for Dr. King was removed from protecting Dr. King an hour before the assassination.
  • Military Intelligence set-up photographers on the roof of a fire station with clear view to Dr. King’s balcony.
  • Dr. King’s room was changed from a secure 1st-floor room to an exposed balcony room.
  • Memphis police ordered the scene where multiple witnesses reported as the source of shooting cut down of their bushes that would have hid a sniper.
  • Along with sanitizing a crime scene, police abandoned investigative procedure to interview witnesses who lived by the scene of the shooting.
  • The rifle Mr. Ray delivered was not matched to the bullet that killed Dr. King, and was not sighted to accurately shoot.

Again: the FBI acted to cause Dr. King’s death by suicide. The FBI illegally spied on Dr. King, used data in attempt to split activists’ leadership, and sent Dr. King a letters and audio tapes to expose sexual affairs. Again this was part of the FBI’s illegal COINTELPRO program to crush activism of any US illegal program via viciously unlawful acts.

Please read the above evidence twice to be clear on its overwhelming power.

The King family’s attempts for a criminal trial were always denied by state and federal government. Claimed suspect, James Ray, said that his government-appointed attorney told him to sign a guilty plea to prevent the death penalty and threatened arrests of his father and brother as co-conspirators for his only part in the assassination plot: delivering a rifle. Mr. Ray produced a letter from his attorney stating the promise that Mr. Ray would receive a trial. When Mr. Ray discovered that he was solely blamed for Dr. King’s assassination and would never receive a trial, Mr. Ray’s subsequent recants of his guilty plea and requests for trial were denied.

The US government also denied the King family’s requests for independent investigation of the assassination, despite the overwhelming evidence produced at the 1999 civil trial. Coretta, spent more than twice the number of years she was married to Martin working to get a criminal trial for her husband’s assassination.

Importantly, the US government has never presented any evidence subject to challenge that substantiates their claim that Mr. Ray assassinated Dr. King.

The King family believes the government’s motivation to murder Dr. King was to prevent his imminent camp-in/Occupy at Washington, D.C. until the Vietnam War was ended and those resources directed to end poverty and invest in US hard and soft infrastructure.

Coretta Scott King: “We have done what we can to reveal the truth, and we now urge you as members of the media, and we call upon elected officials, and other persons of influence to do what they can to share the revelation of this case to the widest possible audience.” King Family Press Conference, Dec. 9, 1999.

Today, among ~100 crucial areas of public importance, objective, measurable, and independently verifiable facts easily explain, document, and prove US history of:

An obvious question: What does the 99.99% of humanity do to end these viciously psychopathic assassinations of our best people, end lie-started Wars of Aggression, end bankster looting, and genuinely have opportunity to create a bright future for all Earth’s inhabitants?

An obvious answer: We tell the truth/facts, arrest obvious criminals, and have media broadcast our true condition so we may begin. I explain here:

2015 Winning Time: 3 phases to 99.99%’s victory over .01% criminal psychopaths

As Martin said, the purpose of our activism is to create “a society at peace with itself, a society that can live with its conscience.”

Martin concluded, “Power requires either money or numbers of people. We don’t have the money, but we sure as hell have the people.”

Our activism shines light to reveal the facts to the people, and encourage their lawful actions.

Shine on.

I think it is important that Thomas Merton – spiritual leader of catholic activism – and MLK were planning to meet in 1968. Had this meeting happened, history would have been changed, very much for the better. Merton died in a weird ‘accident’ early that year and later MLK was assassinated. How many killings were there in the late sixties? Do we know? How many did it take to block the rising people’s voice? Merton’s untimely ‘accident’ and MLK’s death were perhaps the most important, after JFK.

America happens to be among world’s top human right and freedom of speech abusers. Ask anyone who has dared to criticize Israel or criticize America’s war on Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Sudan, Syria and Iran.

Martin Luther King Jr. was never sincere in his rants in favor of human rights. He was projected as Afro-American Christian voice to counter-balance Afro-American Muslim Malcolm X.

In January 2013, Stuart Appelbaum, president of the Jewish Labor Committee (JLC), reminded American Jewish community that late Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., was not only a great supporter of Israel but he never equated Zionism to racism. An opinion two famous African leaders, Bishop Desmond Tutu (South Africa) and Louis Farrakhan (USA).

Dr. King’s association with some Zionist Jews go back to January 1957 when Dr. King and some some Christian leaders behind the Montgomery Bus Boycott assembled in Atlanta, Georgia and established the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). One of the co-founder of the SCLC was White Jewish radical Stanely Levison. He was an official of pro-Israel American Jewish Congress (AJC) and lead a campaign in support of Jewish couple, Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, who were executed for treason against United states in 1953.

Jonathan Kaufman, a Zionist Jewish Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter for the Boston Globe and author in his 1988 book, ‘Broken Alliance’, wrote: “Three-quarters of the funding for Martin Luther King’s Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC); of SNCC, the Student Nonviolent Coordination Committee; and the Freedom Rides of James Farmer and CORE (the Congress of Radical Equality), came from Jewish sources”. But then, Kaufman admitted the true agenda behind the Jewish support. “The Jewish struggle for equality and fair treatment was linked to the struggles of Blacks for a greater opportunity. It was not a struggle of equals; Jews did not consider their plight equal to that of Blacks. But they recognized in Black struggle for civil rights elements that could benefit them and conditions with which they sympathized“.

Rehmat, with all respect, fifty years ago the case against Israel’s illegal Wars of Aggression would be nearly impossible for Dr. King to access.

I stand with Bill Pepper and Martin’s family’s conclusion that the US government assassinated Martin to prevent his ending the Vietnam War, and demand an end to US poverty.

  • Robert Barsocchini

Glad the film has good qualities but not surprised they wouldn’t include something as devastating to the core of the society as the civil trial jury verdict and the King family’s own conclusions.

Things didn’t go to well for MLK after he gave up the cross of Christ to become a community organizer. That’s a guy who I’d like to see the theme from “It’s a Wonderful Life” played out. I wonder what would be the situation with the Black Sub-culture today had he never lived? Better? Worse?

    • Carl_Herman

What, I-RIGHT??? Are you saying the story of Jesus is not one of an activist when his first act in the big city was to physically remove money changers from the Temple???

But go ahead, hater: state that it’s worth pondering that he never lived. Who else do you think that about, eh? Btw: are such thoughts in line with Jesus’ teachings of love?

You think about whatever you want in distraction to the main point: Martin was assassinated by the US government after illegal spying on Martin, and in order to continue its lie-began unlawful War of Aggression on Vietnam.

Be proud of your choices, pal.

      • I-RIGHT-I

“Are you saying the story of Jesus is not one of an activist when his first act in the big city was to physically remove money changers from the Temple???”

Jesus was not an “activist”. lol

So you’re a commie too huh? “Unlawful war of aggression” Where have I heard that one before? LMFAO You’re not smart Carl and you’re not a Christian therefore you have no dog in this fight.

        • MCB

Who are you to determine who is and isn’t a Christian? Who are you to self anoint as the sole arbiter of The 1st Amendment as to who gets to exercise that GOD given Right? Jesus most certainly was an activist, so please get that log out of your eye chief.

          • I-RIGHT-I

Let’s put it this way my biblically illiterate and historically ignorant friend I’ve never met a Christian Communist or Christian Black Activist or a Christian Community Organizer. By their fruits I know them. Who said anything about the 1st amendment? Think before you write Jr.

          • Libertymike

If you have never met a Christian communist, you are one sheltered, ignorant analphabet.

          • I-RIGHT-I

St Paul did away with the communists right at the get go. Everybody knows that. I’ve never met a Christian Democrat either. It’s funny how politics and religion really don’t mix.

        • Carl_Herman

          You’re on your own, I-RIGHT.

You’re free to lol, hate, support unlawful US wars all began by lies, refuse to discuss evidence of unlawful wars for Martin and all of us today, be a religious bigot to judge who is and isn’t Christian, say who is and isn’t “smart” for you, call people names such as “commie,” and whatever else, bro.

Thank you for contrasting what you offer to the public versus factual consideration I offer, along with what Martin’s wife most wants people to know.

        • Martin Luther King Jr. was a ***Baptist*** minister and social activist, who led the Civil Rights Movement in the United States from the mid-1950s until his death by assassination in 1968.

          • I-RIGHT-I

Yes he was a Baptist minister and a Republican. Then he got co-opted by the Dark Side and the rest is revisionist history.

          • Carl_Herman

There you are, I-RIGHT: Martin King was on the “Dark Side”!

Thank you for being so clear where you stand. You help people choose their own position with your own clarity. I appreciate this.

          • I-RIGHT-I

You didn’t understand a word I said but thanks and I’m glad you’re happy Carl.

          • MCB

You’re extremely ignorant “I-RIGHT-I” and you demonstrably don’t understand what judging means when it comes to one’s actions vs. one’s salvation, but keep taking your Ephesians 2: 8 – 10 and Matthew 7:16 out of context. You really should read or re read 2nd Timothy 2 and 1st Corinthians 5 and while you’re at it chief read Proverbs 17:28. Have a nice day Mr. Revisionist. 🙂

          • I-RIGHT-I

Judging means I know a commie when I see one. There are no commies in heaven. It’s in the Bible someplace. Look it up. lol

          • His counter parts and race baiters to be exact, but folks are calling them out now as you will view in this link with a video.

Watch: Jesse Jackson Is Left SPEECHLESS After Black Ferguson Protester Calls Him Out In Epic Rant “When you gonna stop selling us out, Jesse?” B. CHRISTOPHER AGEE — AUGUST 22, 2014

As he attempts to leave a fast food restaurant near the scene of a Ferguson, Mo. police shooting that sparked riots and looting across the St. Louis area, Jesse Jackson was stopped by at least two protesters criticizing his ostensible leadership within the black community.

          • John

The black leadership has sold out the black race, just like the white leadership has sold out the white race. Its seem to be true that money is the root of evil, because all of these people have become multi-millionaires, who sold the rest of us out.

  • Allot folks do not realize this mistake most make and assume.

14th Amendment Citizenship: Citizen = SLAVE

Prior to the alleged ratification of the 14th Amendment, there was no legal definition of a “citizen of the United States”, as everyone had primary citizenship in one of the several states. The Constitution referred to the sovereign state citizen, and no one else. Those who went to Washington, D.C. or outside the several states were commonly called “citizens of the United States.”

  • For those interested, Roger Stone is also in agreement with Selma and shows the real history of LBJ

    • Carl_Herman

Nice, Cynic in NY; thank you. Excerpt from the article:

“With his opposition to the war, King became a moral force who challenged the political establishment and the administration of Lyndon Johnson. Shortly before his death, Hoover’s FBI would overhear King on a wiretap telling a close associate that “Bobby Kennedy is my main man” and disclosing his intention to endorse Kennedy in his fledging bid to win the White House in 1968. One can imagine the speed with which J. Edgar Hoover would have made President Johnson aware of King’s comments. Three weeks later King would be dead. Nine weeks later Kennedy would be dead. The King family thinks LBJ did it.”

      • Not a problem. LBJ tempered his hatred for him until he spoke out against the war publicly thats when he and his fellow warmongers decided that he had to be put down.
