Congress Members Who Approve Militarization of U.S. Police Receive 73% More Money from Defense Industry

Congress Is For Sale to the Highest Bidder

Americans of all stripes oppose the militarization of U.S. police forces.

For example:

So why does Congress continue to approve militarization? For the same reason that Congress members vote for NSA spying on Americans and go easy on Wall Street criminals: money.

Maplight reports that congress critters opposing Congressman Grayson’s bill to demilitarize police receive 73% more money than those voting for it:

International Business Times explains:

The group’s new report looked at a June congressional vote on legislation, offered by U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Fla., that would have blocked the Pentagon from spending resources on transferring military hardware to local police agencies. The bill was defeated 62-355.

According to data compiled by Maplight, the lawmakers “voting to continue funding the 1033 Program have received, on average, 73 percent more money from the defense industry than representatives voting to defund it.” In all, the average lawmaker voting against the bill received more than $50,000 in campaign donations from the defense industry in the last two years. The report also found that of the 59 lawmakers who received more than $100,000  from defense contractors in the last two years, only four voted for Grayson’s legislation.

Looks like humanity needs to declare a war on war itself.

HAHAHA SURPRISE!!!!! yeh, didn’t see THIS one comin’… when are we going to realize that the massive amounts of money in our electoral system CORRUPT ALL OUR POLITICIANS, REGARDLESS OF POLITICAL PARTY OR IDEOLOGY?????

Since their founding in 1902-1903, The Pilgrims Society in London and New York, sponsored by the British Royal family, has included top generals, admirals, armaments manufacturers, ambassadors, financiers and old-line inheritors. Its members have included secretaries of the army, air force and navy and Defense Secretaries—Caspar Weinberger—Robert S. McNamara—Stuart Symington—Thomas S. Gates. Organizations reputed to possess astonishing influence—Bilderberg, Trilateral Commission, Council on Foreign Relations—and many others—were founded by Pilgrims Society members. This group refuses to release rosters into the public domain. We have to rely on verified leaked lists and fragmentary info from assorted sources. This single group is completely responsible for 98% of our national woes.

Yes, because the single group called “congress” can’t be expected to turn down bribes.
Enough with the scapegoating. Your “government” is corrupt and can’t be trusted.

Militarization of our entire nation is a valid concern
that has been evident since G.W. Bu$h declared war based on lies. Clearly this is a scam to benefit
    war profiteers. I have
participated in many anti-war demonstrations where local police used military
surplus protective gear, vehicles, helicopters and arms. Why is this brute force used against
citizens demonstrating to achieve PEACE and JUSTICE?

I live on Whidbey Island, WA
an area with majestic beauty with views of the Olympic and Cascade Mountain
    ranges. Citizens pay dearly
    for their waterfront homes.
Whidbey Island is a small island only 168.7 square miles. NAS Whidbey is a small base,
4,000+ acres that was established in 1942. Our quality of life is in the process of destruction residents
are terrorized with expansion of the base. The U. S. Navy intends to base all 117 Growler jets on Whidbey
due to noise complaints from bases in Hawaii and Florida. Our ecosystem and health and safety are
under grave threat from Growler jets flying less than 200 feet over our homes
emitting 100 – 140 decibels from early morning until 2AM. Each Growler burns 1,300 gallons of
    toxic jet fuel per hour.

This noise is a total distraction of our daily lives. Our complaints to elected officials
fall on deaf ears. Even though
many families have lived on Whidbey for four or five generations we are told if
we don’t like the noise we can move, losing our heritage and retirement
invested in our land. There is no
    other location comparable to Whidbey.

We are all the victims of the
military conditioning Americans to accept the presence of loud invasive
military might. I have to wonder why there is so much
    military surplus? Funds for the
military seem to be unlimited, go to a military surplus auction you will find
hundreds of boxes that have never been opened, squandered funds, pork for war
profiteers. We need accountability from the
    Penta-gone.
