Israel Bombs Another UN School – Killing Women and Children – Despite UN Telling Israel 17 Times that the School Sheltered Civilians

6th UN Shelter Bombed by Israel

Many Gazans have been ordered by the Israeli military to leave their homes.

The Gaza strip was already very small and overcrowded – and Israel has just taken away 44% of it – and so many civilians have crowded into UN shelters … which they assumed were safe.

By way of background, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) runs a number of shelters in Gaza.

Israel has bombed numerous UNRWA shelters in the last week.  Pierre Krähenbühl – Drector of Operations at the International Committee of the Red Cross – tweets today:

This is 6th time one of our @UNRWA schools has been struck. Our staff leading int’l response are being killed. This is a breaking point.

BBC reports today:

Israel attacked a UN-run school housing refugees in Gaza despite warnings that civilians were there, the UN has said.

UN spokesman Chris Gunness said “the world stands disgraced” by the attack, in which 15 died and dozens were hurt.

Mr Gunness, from the UN Relief and Works Agency (Unrwa), told the BBC that Israel had been told 17 times that the school in the Jabaliya refugee camp was housing the displaced.

He said there had been “multiple deaths” including women and children, adding that the attack caused “universal shame“.

Bob Turner, Unrwa’s Gaza director, said the UN was “confident” Israel was responsible.

He said UN workers had collected fragments of projectiles that suggested they were artillery shells fired from Israeli positions to the north-east of the school.

“The last time was hours before the fatal attack,” he said. “Our initial assessment is that it was Israeli artillery that hit our school.”

Israel previously attacked different UN shelters, killing civilians. For example, Antiwar reported last week (citing coverage in the New York Times):

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon was “shocked and appalled” today with the news that Israeli forces attacked a UN school backed full of refugees in the Gaza Strip. At least 16 civilians were confirmed killed in the attack, and around 200 wounded.

The school was one of several designated UN shelters in the Gaza Strip, and the UNRWA says they sent “precise coordinates” of all the shelters to the Israeli military, and not just so they could target them.

Reports state that that particular UN school – 1 of 6 hit – was bombed three separate times.

Thank you, GW. Yes, Israel openly violates war law by targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure like water, power, places of worship, hospitals, schools.

The hostile military siege since 2006 over land, sea and air is unlawful War of Aggression, now exponentially made worse with intense armed attack upon the concentration camp that is Gaza.

    Israel’s “leaders” are War Criminals.

  • Are there any terrorist groups who ‘AREN’T’ paid foot soldiers for the U.S. military-intelligence agenda? By Melissa Melton on July 25, 2014

In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. — President Dwight D. Eisenhower

Let me see if I have this right, because it’s getting really hard to keep things straight these days.

Guess what most American don’t think. Who would eat at McDonalds? Who would pay 100 USD a month for carrying a tracking device like an I-Phone?

I’m going to share a quote with you all:

“We want freedom from the white man rather than to be integrated. We don’t want any part of the establishment, we want to be free to raise our children in our religion, in our ways, to be able to hunt and fish and live in peace. We want to be ourselves. We want to have our heritage, because we are the owners of this land and because we belong here.

“The white man says, there is freedom and justice for all. We have had their “freedom and
justice,” and that is why we have been almost exterminated. We shall not forget this.”

    – 1927 Grand Council of American Indians

The indigenous people in that land should be protected before its too late. The fact that genocide against indigenous people is not condemned in the 21st Century is a shame on the entire human race. This genocide will shame entire generations of people living in Israel by the time Palestinians are moved on to even tinier reservations.

The peaceful Israel-Jewish groups denouncing the crimes of their government should be honored for their bravery in standing solidarity with their cousins. As anyone in Middle Eastern studies will tell you Hebrews and Arabic cultures and linked together. White Europeans that joined Native American nations or stood up for them were a minority, but they favored Humanity over Genocide.

There aren’t much so called peaceful Jews. It is not even possible – because Jews/Israelis only existed in the big book of lies called the Bible and should be really named Lie-ble.

Who says the Indians “owned” the land?? YOU???? OTHER MORONS???? The Indians lived on land that was not “deeded” to them, so technically and legally they did not “own” it. Civilization came along and established sovereign borders and deeds of land ownership. Whether you like it or not, that’s the way it has always worked, and the only way it CAN work! The Indians are still free to run around with their loin clothes and bows and arrows on their established plantations if they choose, but most Indians choose to live in the “white world” of modern day convenience! You know; things like running water, electricity, cars, etc. etc.! Get over it!! As far at the article/blog in question, you could just as easily publish a story about how Hamas fires rockets at Israel from Schools and UN Shelters! Maybe the Palestinian people should do something about that themselves, don’t you think? As Netanyahu puts it, “Israel uses rockets to protect it’s citizens, Hamas uses their citizens to protect their rockets”! Well guess what? That no longer works for the Israeli’s, and I don’t blame them. If our Government wanted to put rockets around our schools in the United States so we could fire them at other countries, I think the American people would be unaccepting of that!!!
