Defense Department Refuses to Tell Senate Which Groups We’re At War With

Senate: Which Groups Are We At War With? Admin: That’s Classified

The Senate’s Committee on Foreign Relations held a hearing today on renewing the Authorization for the Use of Force (AUMF) in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Senators repeatedly asked representatives from the Department of Defense which groups we are at war with.  And the DOD refused to answer.

As the ACLU’s deputy legal director and director of the ACLU’s Center for Democracy (Jameel Jaffer) tweets:

In response, people tweeted how Orwellian this is:

And noted that normal Americans may not be immune:

“Humanity”. I like that last tweet though that’s classic

    • SupernaturalCat

One has to be deeply in denial/delusion to fail to comprehend that the shadow govt controlling the corp/state is ‘at war’ with the American populace, and humanity in general.

        F*cking amen to that.

The Senate’s Committee on Foreign Relations ?

How apt that the words ‘Foreign Relations’ are clearly spelt out.

The Committee clearly belongs to that of a countries, and if we were only to understand the ‘true meaning’, as well as every governments ‘legislative definition’ of a country, it would be quickly understood who these groups really are, that countries through their Committee’s and therefore their countries representative departments of government engaged with ‘foreign entities’, are really at war with.

Once the meaning of ‘Territorial Jurisdiction’ of countries is understood, and ‘where’ those territories of countries are actually to be ‘found’ becomes clear, it may become no laughing matter that it is indeed ‘living people’ that all countries see as being foreign.

Countries are labeled on ‘political maps’.

Politics is merely a ‘personal opinion’ of the way someone, or a group as an ‘association’, thinks we should relate to each other, and here lies the ‘clue’ that, countries originate as ‘creations of the mind’ or ‘figments of the imagination’. They are therefore, categorically, ‘fictitious’ in nature.

The term ‘political’ on maps, provides for unchallenged ‘opinions’ as ‘labels’ on ‘pieces of paper’ with lines drawn on them. These pieces of paper as maps, have nothing to do with physical land and we must not fall into the ‘psychological trap’ of construing an association through them, with actual physical land. They have never claimed such association, that is why they are termed ‘political’, denoting ‘opinion’ as someones ‘fictitious imaginings’.

With little effort, taking the ‘common sense’ to be found in people, and a simple explanation, we can arrive at a clear understanding of what a country is, and which understanding also conforms with every governments ‘legislative definition’ of what a country is – that is to say, a complete ‘fiction’ as a ‘creation of the mind’ or ‘figment of the imagination’, that amounts to just an ‘opinion’.

The way, then, to arrive at an understanding of a country, is not through personal feelings or experience, but through discovering and determining what the ‘facts’ are, and from those facts, arriving at the only conclusion of what a country can be, in conformity with every governments ‘legislative’ understanding that also aligns with the same ‘facts’.

The facts determining what a country is, can be found part way down the source document linked below, under the subtitled heading –

This is literally insane. Any pretense that the United States has a functioning government is gone. It’s time to stop paying taxes.

    • Veri1138

At leasst in Orwell’s world of 1984, they always knew who they were at war with. And only Congress has the power to declare war. Since they have abrogated their Constitutional duty of declaring waar, yet another violation of their Oath of Office. Thus, unfit to serve in Congress.

    • Tess

I’ve been saying this over and over again. STOP PAYING TAXES. Especially federal if you have to choose!

  • Jimmy Cogsdil

The congress is supposed to tell the DOD who we are at war with. Pull the money, Then Congress can get some iron in their spines and Declare War, if they have the guts.

    • Veri1138

Dog and Pony show. Circuses and handouts to corporate cronies. Except that so much has been handed out that the 99% see cuts coming their way in order to pay for the lifestyle and power of the 0.1%.

For instance, Congress is worried about the loyalty of those they send off to classified wars. So much so, that Republicans led the charge in offering even more generous pay raises to military personnel than the Pentagon requested. While at the same time proposing to cut training budgets for skills necessary to survive in combat. Also, authorizing a few MIC gift grab bags where the money will eventually be recycled into campaign contributions and corporate board jobs for retiring Congress Critters (otherwise known as payoffs).

These payoffs from corporate to Congress are necessary to keep the rules being written in corporate favor. As well as funneling taxpayer dollars into the coffers of corporate America, courtesy of Congress. Eventually, the graft and corruption fostered by corporations and Congress becomes so great that money becomes scarce to continue the system. So, items such as The Federal Highway Fund, Social Security, School Lunches; on the chopping block to free up money to keep the corruption going.

Where does this end? Why, revolution. Which is one reason that Congress turns a blind eye to The National Security State they and corporate America will need to rely on to keep the destitute citizenry in line.

        Great comment.

    • This Congress is pathetic. The Imperial Presidency had made them a laughing stock.

Realistically, i don’t think RWNJs are at all high on the priority list.

True, they leave them to the GOP and IRS.

If the Senate doesn’t know by now who the DOD is targeting, they don’t belong in the Senate. Everyone knows that they are gearing up to wipe out REAL Americans who will stand up for the Constitution.

Is that why so much of our military is based overseas?

Memo to Congress, You’re no longer really functional but just here for decoration and to con the American people so they still think they have a country. Signed, the International elite, IMF, and Israel. Thank you, your check is enclosed.

  • Globus Pallidus XI

Hah! It’s a secret from the American people who they are at war with. However, I suspect that this is not much of a secret from the people that the Americans are actually killing…

p.s. If you think that Obama is a liberal – or the lesser of two evils – or doing his best only those nasty Republicans are foiling his plans for goodness – you are part of the problem here.

  • glenn47

Don’t they think it would be in the best interest to tell the people, since they want us to pay for it?

  • marshalladame

Why is Congress asking the DoD who we are war with? The Congress is supposed to be telling the DoD who we are at war with… What is happening here?

  • George Reichel

The concept of “Endless War” has been the US doctrine since the end of WW11.The entire planet is partitioned into US military command structures.HQ is USSTRATCOM in Omaha.

  • Alan8

Orwellian is right! In Orwell’s novel the “enemy” was changed overnight, but the important thing was that the country was continually at war.

That fiction, is now America’s reality! The outrageous secrecy on WHO we’re at war with reminds me of the secrecy of the Soviet Union, where there were even secret laws that citizens could break without knowing it. In a democracy government rules with the consent of the governed, which is impossible if we don’t even know who they’ve decided we’re at war with!

This is tyranny — not democracy! And it continue with enthusiastic bipartisan support.

Yet another reason I vote Green Party.
