The Americans’ Fear of Islamic Terrorists Has Worn Off, So the Government Pulls Out the EVIL RUSSIAN Card Again

New Ooga Booga No Longer Effective … So Government Switches Back to Tried-And-True Old-Timey Ooga-Booga

Preface: I’m not siding with Putin on the Ukrainian dispute. I don’t like Communism.  I was born in the U.S. and have lived here all of my life.  I hate Stalin with a passion – a man who killed countless protesters, and sent numerous others away to insane asylums – and have railed against the “useful idiots” who naively supported the Soviets. I also think that Putin is a corrupt kleptocrat.  I’m just pointing out that the U.S. Government is completely overreacting and fear-mongering. This is taking place on the other side of the world, and doesn’t effect America’s national security (although we may have heavily invested in the outcome).

Fear of terrorists made the American public afraid, gullible and easy to manipulate for more than a decade.

But now – despite the best efforts of the military-industrial complex to  intentionally whip up an exaggerated hysteria of Islamic terrorists -  Americans are starting to wake up from our fear-induced haze:

Indeed, Americans are realizing that we’re more likely to be killed by lightning, toddlers, brain-eating parasites or bad government policy than terrorism.

So how can the poor lads in the military industrial complex keep the gravy train going?

The evil Russians!  That worked last time … it’ll work again!

All they have to do is re-demonize the Russians.  How long can it take to scrub the images of the peaceful Olympics – and Putin’s prevention of war against Syria – out of people’s minds, and re-instill the fear of the old Red Menace?

After all, in the 1970s, Cheney and Rummy generated fake intelligence exaggerating the Soviet threat in order to undermine coexistence between the U.S. and Soviet Union, which conveniently justified huge amounts of cold war spending.  And see this. That worked like a charm!

Surely, a few misrepresentations about Putin’s intention to start the next world war and take over the world will scare the daylights out of the American people!

Ahhh, the sweet smell of success

I’m so conservative, when it comes to limited gov’t, I make
Libertarians look like liberals. BUT, You people are incredible !!!!!
Instead of condemning the invader you criticize the response ?
Why don’t you just identify this event for what it truly is:
A secret agreement between Obama and Putin for a false flag
    that would allow both gov’ts to . . . Oh, I’m sure you’ve already
    got it figured out.
(Isolationism is the hallmark of those that choose to be blind to history)

Nations minding their own business is the number one enemy of imperialistic warmongers.

That is why they call it “isolationism.”

It isolates their wars to the history books by taking wars out of the newspapers by not having any wars.

      • Man on the street

If we don’t have expensive wars, then we will not need more loans from the Feds? If the Feds don’t make trillions of dollars loans to us, so where are they going to get the income to be the richest institution on earth?

I bet the Feds pay McCain to push us to wars!

    • guest

You categorize the invasion of the Crimea as a false flag perpetrated by prior secret agreement between Putin and Obama. Then you condemn anyone not stupid enough to go marching off to war over it as an isolationist.

    • Johnny Weasel

You’re so conservative the only type of Government you like is the one that explicitly subidizes Banksters and Militarism. “Gubbmint” isn’t pulling out anything that Wall Street and the Pentagon otherwise want pulled out. Generally speaking, bitter American pigs are more likely to hate anything that stands in the way of trying to be as successful as their wealthy overlords. (democracy, colored people, human rights, dignity, etc)

“I’m so conservative, when it comes to limited gov’t, I make Libertarians look like liberals.”

      No you don’t.

  • John

    Go back to Moscow!!!

    • Charles

I see ! You have no problem criticizing but, can not/will not accept
criticism or debate or support your opinion for yourself ?
I’m sorry you missed the point.

    Great post. Quite true.

Our foreign policy has been forged by tumor impaired government brains for too long.

When you listed potential causes of death to Americans as likely as terrorism you forgot to mention bee stings. It’s unfortunate that Americans and the European Union have been enjoying all their wealth and economic success oblivious to the realization that all that success was dependent on who controls the Crimea which most Americans including our President couldn’t find on a map.. The Russians managed to walk in and ” take ” this vital strategic prize with a force about 1/5 the size of the New York City police Department without firing a shot. Now we are being whipped into a war hysteria by our government telling us that this is a genuine threat to our national security. The biggest threat to our national security is our own gullibility and hysteria.

“Surely, a few misrepresentations about Putin’s intention to start the
next world war and take over the world will scare the daylights out of
    the American people!”

If I was a foreign nation and used Mexico’s instability against it to form a government that regents the area under me or strongly supports me, I would not be surprised the US would immediately move to counter the development. In actuality, this is precisely what the US, EU, Saudi Arabia, and company presented by creating a revolution in Ukraine.
Putin is no saint, but there is no real alternative to Russia here. Anti-Russian Ukraine seriously cripple’s Russia’s interests, and it creates staging grounds for a future invasion of Russia proper. In either case, the banking industry will attain their profiteering enterprises, and they get their major war the Rand Corp has evaluated to be required.

Or, maybe Americans finally woke up to the RUSE, of “Al-Qaeda” (a.k.a. “Al-CIA-da”), since “Al-Qaeda” began as the Mujahideen, funded by the CIA, to fight the Soviets, back in the 1980′s. The term “Al-Qaeda” means “The List” (ie, of Mujahideen that the CIA funded to fight the Soviets).

  • Luther R. Norman

Get ready for it now the new ‘Red Nightmare’ perpetrated by propaganda about the ‘evil Russians”! Don’t believe so much of the bloody hype…

  • KellyKAFIR

If you think that Islamic terrorism is nothing more than a “boogey man” then you have grossly underestimated the enemy. While it is true that not ever Muslim is a terrorist, their bloody 1400 history, including the Barbary Wars where Americans were taken hostage before we even had a foreign policy should demonstrate that this is not just something made up to go to war. The 70′s saw a rising up of Islamic extremism and we have had over 20,000 Islamic attacks around the world just since 9/11. Not to mention all the little boys who are molested, the little girls who are forced to marry as children, female genital mutilation, the killing of gays, stoning of rape victims and those accused of adultery… You really need to study your history and know what you are talking about regarding Islam before spewing such nonsense.

    • JimmyG1213

Yaaawwwn …….. You forgot some other stupid Neo-Con talking points:
1.) They hate us for our freedoms
2.) The Muslim Brotherood controls the White House
      3.) Hollywood is Paliwood
4.) Muslim mosques are not religious centers but are actually Brotherhood offices
5.) There are Muslim only zones in the USA
6.) Israel is vital to US security interests
We’ve heard them all for the last 13 years, keep bringing them on
While you are at it, why don’t you rail against the genital mutilation which goes on by Jews? Why don’t you rail against the fact that there are allegations of underage, forced marriage and sexual abuse right here in North America in cloistered Jewish Orthodox communities, why don’t you rail against the anti-gay laws in Israel, Why don’t you rail against Pollard?AIPAC? or mention the USS Liberty? or the Lavon affair? Why don’t you talk about the ethnic cleansing of Christians which lived in Palestine for HUNDREDS of years with Muslims, but were killed and driven out had their churches destroyed?
But 20 to 40% of Americans know where your loyalties really lie KellyKAFIR !!!!

      • KellyKAFIR

I didn’t say any of that. And I have never ever been a liberal who switched to being a conservative. And btw FGM is NOTHING compared to Jewish circumcision. You don’t make any sense and sound more like a Paulbot. My loyalties have always been with America first. You sound like a hysterical Prison Nation fan. But I am sure instead of actually reading the Qur’an and Hadith and Sira and Reliance of the Traveller, Alex Jones and Jesse Ventura will tell you what to think. LOL!

  • KellyKAFIR

Oh and by the way, the grand daddy of all terrorist orgs, the Ikwhan (Muslim Brotherhood started in 1928 by Hassan al Banna) is here and operating in the US so they don’t have to attack us with terrorism. They are “bringing down our miserable house by our own hands.” Source: US v. Holy Land Foundation evidence.

Pretty spot on. The state has resorted back to it’s previous boggy man to get people riled up. Here’s a suggestion conservative warmongers and liberal “humantarian” liberals; Why don’t you bloodthirsty scum put your money where your mouth is and go to Ukraine yourselves? Is that too hard? Should I draw up a manual for you?

    • Fred

Doing the actual fighting has a certain risk that the neo-con nebbishes in DC prefer to avoid.

      • http://cynicalinny.blogspot.com/ Bill

Pretty much, it doesn’t take much to call for a war but actually having to fight in one is another question.

  • Man on the street

Any thinking American who observed that we have supported the extremist Islamist government getting elected in Egypt, and even Carter observed the cheating, and was ordered to look the other way by Hilary Clinton.

We have also spent billion dollars recruiting, arming, and shipping al Qaeda fighters to Syria to depose the secular president there. We have also negotiated with the Taliban to Harass Karzi in Afghanistan! So, all and all why should the American citizen fear the Islamic terrorists if their government love them and arm them?

” We’ll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the public believes is false.” Former CIA director William Casey(1981). It is as true today as it was when he first said it. ” America buys war like children gobble candy.” Henry Kissinger. Alex de Tocqueville described American as conformist who tend to follow the leader and have trouble thinking for themselves. Orwellian Society-One that can be easily cowed, controlled and directed.Terrorist are not born. They are created. “Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you create atrocities.” Voltaire. Social progress is ignored when the guns of war become a national obsession. ” Voice or no voice, the people can always be bought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifist for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger.” Herman Goering Nazi leader (Nuremberg Trials).

Our invasion of the middle eastern countries has allowed us to funnel who knows how much money in the form of “relief” and arms deals to middle eastern “rebels” and their new “democratic” governments that support our “cause.” And now we’re already starting the money transfer to Ukraine.
Just last week our Secretary of Defense announced he was cutting back on our military to start sending people home and now this? Tsk, tsk. The noble U.S. government is not going to be able to keep that promise. In the name of liberty and justice, we’ll just have to continue our vigilant watch.

After the Syria wake up call and Russia’s skillful public handling of it the only people who are buying the lies seem to be the senior crowd that was raised on it and still gets their news from FOX. Well them and the Americans that you could say we need to bomb Tibet because of (Insert lies here) and they would go along with that too.
