States Fight Back Against NSA Spying

Can American States Rein In An Out-Of-Control Federal Spy Agency?

The American people aren’t falling for NSA’s propaganda.  They want the rogue agency reined in.

But Obama refuses to rein in the NSA, Dianne Feinstein says that Congress “doesn’t have the votes” to do anything about mass surveillance, and at least some judges are supporting the NSA’s spying (and it’s not clear what the Supreme Court will do).

But states are trying to fight back …

Legislation has been introduced in 10 states (and counting) proposing one or both of the following:

(1) Cutting off water, electricity or other resources to NSA facilities within the state

(2) Prohibiting the state’s cooperation with the NSA; for example, sharing data about its citizens, or university research support for NSA

For information about the state legislation:

And see this.

While this may sound to some like a Republican approach, Democrats who support the NSA will be vulnerable next election, and progressives need to re-claim freedom from mass surveillance as a core issue:

    Is this a distraction? Duh!

Congress just shut off extended UI, and now Food Stamps are taking a hit. There have been two major disinformation financial announcements in the last week about foreign banks cutting off access to depositor funds.

And the anti-war movement is also clearly the target of this Snowden disinformation parade. It’s been very effective. “Let’s get everyone talking about nonexistent privacy issues, about which nothing can ever be confirmed, even if a public announcement of a change in policy is necessary.”

Right now, if the media announced next month is February, I’d still have reason wonder why they were making such a proclamation.

Diversify your modest hedges. Safeguard and increase the frequency with which you check your store of available cash. Take some small part of what you can afford to spend/lose and invest it in something that looks like the price could go through the roof. If nothing else along those lines, buy food when it is on sale, and/or keep your energy tanks/stores topped off.

    Something is up.

    • “Non-existent privacy issues?”

How about that Air Force software which emulates bloggers who are not bloggers, but are trolls for big brother?

      Huh tonto?

  • A great example of state rights we almost forgot.

These people are very, very, evil. And voters and supporters of these evil people are just as evil. They have plans for you and it doesn’t include life. Protect yourself and survive.

saying you “don’t have enough votes” is like saying you “don’t have enough bullets” to defend myself, so I’m not going to try.
