Former Top NSA Official: “We Are Now In A Police State”

32-year NSA Veteran Who Created Mass Surveillance System Says Government Use of Data Gathered Through Spying “Is a Totalitarian Process”

Bill Binney is the high-level NSA executive who created the agency’s mass surveillance program for digital information. A 32-year NSA veteran widely regarded as a “legend” within the agency, Binney was the senior technical director within the agency and managed thousands of NSA employees.

Last year, Binney held his thumb and forefinger close together, and said:

We are, like, that far from a turnkey totalitarian state.

But today, Binney told Washington’s Blog that the U.S. has already become a police state.

By way of background, the government is spying on virtually everything we do.

All of the information gained by the NSA through spying is then shared with federal, state and local agencies, and they are using that information to prosecute petty crimes such as drugs and taxes. The agencies are instructed to intentionally “launder” the information gained through spying, i.e. to pretend that they got the information in a more legitimate way … and to hide that from defense attorneys and judges.

This is a bigger deal than you may realize, as legal experts say that there are so many federal and state laws in the United States, that no one can keep track of them all … and everyone violates laws every day without even knowing it.

The NSA also ships Americans’ most confidential, sensitive information to foreign countries like Israel (and here), the UK and other countries … so they can “unmask” the information and give it back to the NSA … or use it for their own purposes.

Binney told us today:

The main use of the collection from these [NSA spying] programs [is] for law enforcement. [See the 2 slides below].

These slides give the policy of the DOJ/FBI/DEA etc. on how to use the NSA data. In fact, they instruct that none of the NSA data is referred to in courts – cause it has been acquired without a warrant.

So, they have to do a “Parallel Construction” and not tell the courts or prosecution or defense the original data used to arrest people. This I call: a “planned programed perjury policy” directed by US law enforcement.

And, as the last line on one slide says, this also applies to “Foreign Counterparts.”

This is a total corruption of the justice system not only in our country but around the world. The source of the info is at the bottom of each slide. This is a totalitarian process – means we are now in a police state.

Here are the two slides which Binney pointed us to:

A slide from a presentation about a secretive information-sharing program run by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration's Special Operations Division (SOD) is seen in this undated photo (Reuters / John Shiffman)

A slide from a presentation about a secretive information-sharing program run by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration's Special Operations Division (SOD) is seen in this undated photo (Reuters / John Shiffman)

(Source: Reuters via RT; SOD stands for “Special Operations Division,” a branch of a federal government agency.)

We asked Binney a follow-up question:

You say “this also applies to ‘Foreign Counterparts.'” Does that mean that foreign agencies can also “launder” the info gained from NSA spying? Or that data gained through foreign agencies’ spying can be “laundered” and used by U.S. agencies?

Binney responded:

For countries like the five eyes (US, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand) and probably some others it probably works both ways. But for others that have relationships with FBI or DEA etc., they probably are given the data to used to arrest people but are not told the source or given copies of the data.

(See this for background on the five eyes.)

Bill Binney confesses to what the people have known all along. “We live in a police state.” Why the militarization of the nation’s police force for “riot control”. Who do they think is going to riot, and why? To control the few thugs armed with automatic weapons? Thank God someone with credibility comes forth with the obvious. For you dummies out there, the emperor continues to wear no clothes.

Write Congress and Senate today to shut down the NSA and have a full public investigation or it with prosecution of all criminals. IN 2014 vote out all Democrats and Republicans- time to put in Libertarians, or Constitution or other third party candidates for say NO to a police state and YES to the Constitution! God bless you all !

My ex husband is one of the snoopers at the NSA. he’s been there 40 years, he has never had a background check that I know of, nobody ever asked me anything – I would have told them he’s a deadbeat and a criminal – NSA is going to keep doing what they do and nobody is going to stop them. He told me “I can do anything I want and nobody can touch me.” So, he’s still there snooping on everybody. When they arrest my ex husband, then they might clean it up.

Zionism is based upon the promises of Yahweh in the Old Testament. The NWO elite are Luciferian, not Jewish or Christian. This ridiculous focus on Zionism, which is nothing more a cover for the hojuden Rothschilds working on behalf of their royal progenitors to establish a major base of operations in the Middle East from which to plunder and/or occupy/control the rest of the Middle East (which, besides Syria and Iran, they have already done)
The NWO could care less about Jews, Christians, Muslims, Israel, the U.S., Israel, etc. Al CIA Duh are indeed butchering Jewish, Christian and Muslim civilians in Syria right now.

I couldn’t have said this better myself! The take-over started with the Bauer family way back around 1772. The Bauer family morphed into the Rothschild’s gaining control, over the centuries, via their banking practices. They are the #1 Banking family and no movement takes place without their direction. They created and head the NWO. Even though they are ethnically Jewish…religion means nothing to them that’s why they finance both sides of every war, even financing Hitler, as well as the US during WWII. They use religion as the enemy of all wars. The Jews during WWII and now the Muslims for all our current wars. They need a boogey man to rile up the people to take up arms to slaughter our fellow man…all for the purpose of making huge profits from those wars through debt (financing both sides of those wars) and investments in the arms industries.
Human life means nothing to them and their minions…money and power does.
The cure? Stop your sons/daughters from signing up for military service. STOP SHOPPING at stores that support taking jobs overseas. STOP SHOPPING at stores that treat their employees like shit :::cough…Walmart, McDonalds, Papa Johns, etc.:::::
We, as a people, have power if we just band together and oppose, oppose, oppose! There are more of us than there are of them and they know that and that is what scares them. That is why things are moving so fast now, by them. They know the people are waking up and if they are to succeed in completely removing our civil rights…enslaving us…they need to make it happen now.
“Our military are nothing but dumb stupid animals to be used in foreign policy”, – Henry Kissinger
“The old are useless eaters”, – Henry Kissinger

        • bariola

That is NOT what I said. The Rothschilds are not the only powerful family in the world. Far far from it. They were given their start by British and European royalty a little more than 2 centuries ago. They would not have been allowed to become the power that they are without approval from the royals. You could say that the Rothschilds were the ultimate hofjuden (court Jews, as in royal court).

There is no clear cut date or time period as to when the New World Order western mafia, in its present form, began vying for complete world control. Some go back a century and some go back thousands of years. Also, there is absolutely no clear cut proof that the Rothschilds started anything. A few Ashkenazi Jewish bankers started a movement for world domination? Seriously? What about the empires that had ruled for centuries, with vast armies and assassins at their command? Those empires let a few clever Jews take them over? I sincerely doubt it. If you go back to Weishaupt’s time, well, wasn’t he Jesuit? No, I’m not blaming the Jesuits. I’m merely pointing out how, although it is clear that a western mafia, international in scope, does exist at present, its precise date of origin is far from certain.

You are doing exactly what I stated should not be done – you are relegating the New World Order western mafia/corporatocracy to a few Ashkenazi Jews. What about the Vatican, which for 1500 years has oppressed, tortured and butchered its subjects and in more recent times, covered for its plethora of pedophilic priests? NONE of us go to their meetings, so none of us know for sure what goes on in the dark halls of power or who is at the very top.

It appears to me that, around the middle or end of the 19th century, the royals of Europe and Britain formed a secret alliance with each other and with the Robber Barons, forming the present power structure such as it is. There is no clear cut date for this. It is interesting that the Rothschilds weren’t even allowed to intermarry with British royalty until the late 19th century.

EVIL people run the present global mafia, and they are not all Ashkenazi Jews, not by a long shot. If you have valid historical proof for a precise start date for the NWO please share it. After 5 years of research I have not found such a date.

Evil people have always risen to the top of the food chain ever since we evolved evermore complex societies (in which there is ever-lessening accountability). It has zero to do with religion or ethnicity in any way shape or form. There is no doubt that the Rothschilds are close to the top of the foodchain, but NONE of us, save the NWO elite themselves, know who is truly at the top.

        • bariola

Re: the power elite, It is precisely this narrow focus on a few Ashkenazi Jews that make the uninformed believe that anyone opposed to government corruption is a double-digit-IQ neo-Nazi. This narrow focus on all things Zionist or Rothschild gives the msm endless ammunition against all patriots who want the corruption to end. IMO, this is done by design. If you can relegate the Patriot and 9/11 Truth Movements to a small minority of neo-Nazis in the public’s mind, the power elite have won and we’ve lost.

          • William O. Darby

Despite the fact that Jews are indeed not capable of making any appreciable effort with regard to global domination without many others being involved, you fail to explain why the Jews are so heavily represented in the ranks of those who push the myriad policies and efforts that comprise the New World Order. No, they are certainly not the only sinners in that regard, but their collective hands are as dirty as any other group’s, and they do have a huge input into the formulation of those policies and efforts.

          • bariola

Here we go, Joo Joo Joo Joo JOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

What does it matter whether an evil person is Jewish or non-Jewish? First, none of us, save the NWO elite, know who is at the very top. For all we know it could be the royal families (who gave the Rothschilds their start), or the Vatican and its pedophile priests (the oldest power block in existence). Or, it could be an entity that none of us have ever heard of.

If the Italian mob was at the very top of the NWO pyramid, would you continually rail against those damn Italians? Somehow, I doubt it.

  • patrick

If the main purpose if really for law enforcement, as you quote Binney,,then what’s the goal? Put way more people into prison? Cause this spying gives the ability to catch way more people committing “crimes”

  • Michael Teigen

We have been ‘in a police state” for quite a few years.

    • WagTheDawg

NSA computerized surveillance began in 1974 during the reign of that Warren Commission dupe, President Ford.

      • H.P. Loathecraft

computerized surveillance began 25 years before that in Nazi Germany under the auspices of International Business Machines.

Aided by the company’s custom-designed and constantly updated Hollerith systems, Hitler was able to automate his persecution of the Jews. Historians have always been amazed at the speed and accuracy with which the Nazis were able to identify and locate European Jewry. Until now, the pieces of this puzzle have never been fully assembled. The fact is, IBM technology was used to organize nearly everything in Germany and then Nazi Europe, from the identification of the Jews in censuses, registrations, and ancestral tracing programs to the running of railroads and organizing of concentration camp slave labor.

Reagan (really, Bush Sr.) signed off on all of the COG (Continuity of Government) Executive Orders in the 80’s, including the creation of FEMA. Really, we were occupied in 1913 with the instatement of the Federal Reserve Bank. With the National Security Act of 1947, the old money powers (i.e., the royals of Britain and Europe) along with their politicians, Robber Baron corporate heads and bankers solidified their hold on this country. It’s been downhill ever since as far as jobs being sent overseas, our economy sabotaged and our civil liberties being chipped away at , a little at a time so we barely notice or give a crap.

The western international mafia/corporatocracy that rules much of the globe and is going for it all is responsible for most of the major wars going on. It really doesn’t matter if you call them the New World Order, the Illuminati or simply a bunch of mega-wealthy, well-educated, well-spoken, well-dressed, sociopathic sycophants. They are the biggest drug dealers in the world (why do you think we occupied Afghanistan?), are the biggest sex traffickers (DynCorp and Halliburton and U.N. peacekeepers in Bosnia, Kosovo, Cambodia and Mozambique are just the tip of the iceberg) and are arming Al CIA Duh (sorry, the Syrian protestors) in Syria as they did in Libya a few years back, Macedonia in early 2001, Bosnia in the 90’s and Afghanistan in the 80’s.

Something ain’t quite right here, is it? We give rocket launchers to Al Qaeda and affiliates in Syria yet we still irradiate and/or grope people in our airports and increasingly in other venues (in violation of the 4rth Amendment and all that is holy) to protect us from these same terrorists. Is the war on terror really about protecting us, or is it about training us to be slaves?

“They who would give up essential Liberty to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.” Benjamin Franklin

        • dms1813

You really think we’re anything close to a totalitarian state? Since 9/11, how many ordinary citizens have managed to start and grow companies that have been incredibly disruptive to the status quo – including how we as citizens can communicate with one another and how the government does business? How many young people from working-class backgrounds have become millionaires by learning how to code and building a business (or a personal reputation within larger companies)? This is still by far a country defined by opportunity if you’re smart, adaptive, work hard – and yes, have a fair bit of luck along the way.

I think it’s both inaccurate and really counterproductive to make the world seem like a place where your fate has been pre-ordained and some shady cabal actually controls everything.

Have you ever read the Twitter account “gselevator” (where gs stands for Goldman Sachs)? One of their execs was caught saying “If the Illuminati exists, I think I’d know about it.”

We’re all the masters of our own destiny. Some have a leg up by starting with a fortune that is already theirs to grow, but the bottom line is that if you want your life to be different than it is – make it so. The elite in the world aren’t worried about oppressing you, they’re just each individually advancing their own interests (which yes, occasionally intersect). You should do the same.

          • bariola

No, you simply refuse to accept the reality around you. Why did you go off about economic opportunity? I was talking about government corruption and unconstitutional surveillance..

Yeah, I would believe something that a Goldman Sachs exec says. Right there it is apparent that you are woefully naïve.

I mentioned sex trafficking, drug money laundering, the U.S. arming Al Qaeda in
Syria and how our jobs are being sent overseas. You come back with: the U.S. is the land of opportunity.

I never said that our lives are preordained. I said our constitutional rights are being violated by a bunch of Mafiosi with Harvard educations. The fact is, the British East India Company never died, it just got bigger and high tech.

This is off-topic, but I play guitar (used to play in bands before arthritis and neuropathy set in). Over the past two years, I’ve gone through close to a dozen distortion pedals (distortion is the most common electric guitar effect) trying to find just a couple that do what I want them to do.

The two pedals that have won out, that both sound the best and are the least noisy, are made by two different companies in China. It pisses me off, but what are you gonna do. Plus, they were the least expensive amongst the bunch. I try not to buy Chinese, but these two pedals are quality products and I’m not a Rockefeller, so I do look for good deals.

    Its No Secret

Its No Secret. It’s No Secret that God’s Law
of Attraction operates on and above the physical plane. James Patrick
Watson credits the Law of Attraction to God and reveals this using verses in
the Bible. It is about expressing gratitude for blessings, the direct result of
understanding and using this most important of God’s Laws. Watson saw the
possibility of this book when he read Rhonda Byrne’s “The Secret”–it revealed
the need to make Christians realize that the Law of Attraction is in the Bible
itself and that God expects every Christian to appreciate and use it.

I confess I helped start this thing. I was selected to help start the Electronic Battlefield in Southeast Asia in 1967. We listened in to what the poor North Vietnamese conscripts were saying on The Trail and in the Battlefields, . . . from miles away orbiting at 22,000 feet.
When I loudly expressed my discomfort at having it eventually used against us, I was surprised to hear resounding agreement.

These shows – I would imagine- are designed to develop a “sense” of respect towards law enforcement,…or else…. That was over 20 years ago. We saw FEMA spread it’s “wings” during Hurricane Andrew. How ironic that that was just AFTER the Gulf War. Now, we have a “reality” consisting of the “digital mind”, and we have a reality of day to day spying, surveilance , internet digital footprints, digital data of energy consumption, tracking your economic footprint via debit/cc’s, your phone data via towers etc..,

By the way….careful with the Bitcoin virtual currency. It may turn into the cashless part of the NWO one world currency.

I’ve thought about that countless times, really freaks me out. The worst part is that most people that are big on it are libertarians like myself. As for me, i’ll stick to gold and silver (proven by thousands of years of history and i can hold it in my hands)

      • Adam Raymond Ravenhurst

the real currency is skills and abilities, not things.

    • Homer Gantry

The utopian hopes that so many seem to put into this electronic figment is very much cause for concern. How is a “currency” that is based on a computer code that lives on a system under the control of the globalists supposed to restore liberty? Do the Bitcoin utopianists think that the Bitcoin code cannot be corrupted and manipulated? Do they really think the globalists would not suborn it? Do they honestly believe that the globalists cannot command the talent to do that? If the utopianists DO believe that, then they have committed the serious error of underestimating a deadly opponent.

Three or Four EMPs detonated 90 miles above the Earth’s surface renders ALL of this moot.

‘SOD’ is a great acronym, since we are all being electronically Sodomized by our Government through the myriad programs like this one!

  • Mr. Eckert

So Mr. Binney, how much of this tyranny have YOU been responsible for?

Why have you waited this long to come forward. Saving the old pension were you? Afraid of being assassinated? Or vere you jusst followink orderss?

Were you a true believer who’s just now seen what horrors he helped institute? If that’s the case, I can give you a pass.

But for the unrepentant, nothing personal, but “git a rope, Boys!”.

You look the gift horse in the mouth and then you shut down others willing to reveal systemic illegality.
      Get a clue, you dunce.

  • prov6yahoo

Law Enforcement has ALWAYS used this technique: gain proof of criminal activity illegally, in the past that was usually illegal wiretapping, then start investigating in order to get “legally obtained” evidence of the crime.

    • novictim

      Thank you!
You refer to the DEA process of “Parallel Construction” where the drug crimes are identified by accessing warantless NSA phone *voice* recordings of US Citizens, determine the location of drug deals, and then swoop in for the bust…and all they while they concoct a legal avenue whereby they claim to have developed the case.

And then the DEA lies to the courts regarding the illegal nature of the original evidence so as to avoid the exclusionary rule connection with the 4th amendment violations.

Don’t let anyone sell you the line that the NSA domestic spying programs are not leading to systematic violations of the Constitution.

It is just the same that happens in My country, Norway, and all western countries are surveilled by an international network that serve all kind of authorities this way in the various countries. NSA is just the biggest node in this network.

The powerful always feel entitled to take control by legal and illegal means. The founders of the USA were aware of this and created a constitution.
Over the years, MILLIONS have died in promoting and protecting this constitutional frame work.

And then 18 Arab nationals hijack 3 planes, kill 2000 Americans, and we let TPTB then tear up the 4th Amendment? Are you F*ing kidding me?! WTF!

  • MomentOfClarity

    Question:
Does it really matter? Which of you ever signed “consent to be governed”, “to be taxed beyond affordability” (without representation), to be a “subject of the state”? Which of you ever volunteered to be drafted? To become a non-voluntary, non-elected, pop-up target in a GLADIATORIAL campaign which was created strictly and solely for the entertainment and financial gain of the already wealthy elite? In ANY of the (so called) National Polls… were any of you ever asked how you felt about it? Were any of you asked to vote on “Obamacare” ? “Warrant-less” searches, seizures, arrests ? Which of you said you were willing to accept a Totalitarian State of Government ?
    Answer:
    Silence IS CONSENT.

Time for a revolution… peaceful, or not, it should be done.

  • Jacob.Z

Technically we are a totalitarian state we have no privacy and our public lives are constantly on display on sites like facebook or other sites that are claimed to be secure, but NSA has already claimed to have meta-data on these big sites, can anyone tell me what they do with all this info… Oh yeah, use them to persecute for petty crimes. Really, what else does the government have to take anyway from us?
“Totalitarianism or totalitarian state is a term used by some political scientists to describe a political system in which the state holds total authority over the society and seeks to control all aspects of public and private life wherever possible. Which we all know but still what can we do”. Straight off google.

I firmly believe Chief Justice Roberts was blackmailed by NSA for B O Further, congress has gone rabid corrupt with impunity like they know no one will stop them or arrest them from one crooked dead after another-using the IRS as their thug to harass, destroying veterans chances of getting care, rewarding doctors with bonuses that go through with their bidding. Now setting up B Ocare centers paying people that do nothing,Texas fertilizer plant that was possibly droned for monsanto-13 died Who gave that order.Hastings car was droned and remotely highjacked -going over 100 then motor blown out of car-what 100%pure evil-note to self-never own a new car

I haven’t read all the comments here, so I’m not sure if this has been asked, but–does anybody wonder why the person who created Pandora’s Box now wants to tell the world about it? Was he not aware of the programs greater purpose when he created it (which would seem highly doubtful that he wasn’t.) Did he just have a change of heart? Are these just more psy-ops tactics (what the intention would be is to much for me to even guess at while I’m still on my first cup of coffee)

This guy went from the creator of this mass surveillance program, and was high up in the NSA, managing thousands of people–and was considered internally a “legend” and now he’s going on every major network in the developed world to tell us that we are in a “Police State?” So, basically, one of the Architects of the Police State is here to tell us that we are in a Police State. Well, thank you Sir for alerting us….

Is no one else even remotely suspicious?

The crackdown on supposed “tax cheaters” who failed to file FBAR forms coupled with FACTA not only ensures that the US government knows every financial detail about every American regardless of where they live, but also de facto will ensure that Americans are only allowed to bank with US banks which are subject to the control of the US government. This is because since FACTA, many foreign financial institutions are terminating relationships with Americans and refusing new business from them, because the compliance costs and risks are simply too high. As such, Americans have no choice but to retain relationships with US banks, which report all financial transactions to the US government upon request and the government can easily freeze or even seize assets without intergovernmental cooperation. The FBAR prosecutions of otherwise innocent Americans coupled with FACTA is one more way the US is exerting totalitarian control over its citizens. Its easy to dismiss the pieces of the puzzle as tinfoil hat conspiracy theory, particularly if you have been indoctrinated into the system and you buy into the propaganda, but the truth is that the US has become something dark and dangerous, and its citizens are happy ostriches with their heads buried in the sand, believing that if they work hard and obey the law, these issues won’t affect them. But as the article noted, we all break laws everyday without realizing it. People are being prosecuted and thrown in jail as we speak simply for not filing forms on time. Don’t believe me? Look up FBAR prosecutions. The government will try to paint them all as wealthy tax cheaters but they’re not. They’re examples to be held up to scare the crap out of everyone else. Welcome to your democracy.
