Will Americans Reclaim Our Nation in 2010 From the Thugs and Con Artists?

The giant banks are treating the American Citizen like we work for them, are holding the economy hostage, and are taking our deposits and using them to speculate in casino style gambling.

They’ve bought and paid for Congress and the White House. See this, this and this.

Will Americans exercise our power – see this and this – or become serfs to a permanent banking royalty?

An economist says the healthcare bill “is just another bailout of the financial system”, and lawyers say that it is unconstitutional.

Will we defeat this giveaway to the insurance giants, or become permanent slaves to mandatory insurance requirements?

Top scientists, economists and environmentalists all say that cap and trade is a scam which won’t significantly reduce C02 emissions, and will only help in making the financial players who crashed the economy even more wealthy.

Will we defeat this worthless scam, or allow the failed banks like Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan and Citigroup – who have already taken many billions of taxpayer dollars – to make a fortune off of this con game at our expense?

Will Americans reclaim our nation in 2010 from the thugs and con artists, or put our heads down and stay subservient while the little we have left in the way of money, resources and dignity is stolen by the giant banks, insurance companies and carbon trading players?

Will Americans reclaim their nation or stay heads down and subservient? In the 2000 presidential election the Supreme Court stopped the count and declared Bush (probably the loser) the winner. A stake was put through the heart of American democracy.Few gave a shit, not even democrats.Although the event passed like a silent whimper, it was probably the most significant indication of American apathy in relation to their fragile democracy.I think it will be safe to assume, the powers that be, can rest safe in the knowledge they have done a fine job on the minds, imaginations and wallets of the desensitised and poorly informed plebs.Like sheep to the slaughter…It was all tooo easy.2010 will chronicle America's continued cosy relationship between government and chosed corporations that will in turn control the masses and continue to have them believe that up is down and war is peace."Democracy… while it lasts is more bloody than either aristocracy or monarchy. Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There is never a democracy that did not commit suicide." John Adams. On December 12, 2000 American democracy committed suicide, its corpse now carries that nasty smell of fascism.

Not to get too far off topic, but America also needs to reclaim our nation's foreign policy from the thieves eying Pakistan's nuclear arsenal. Healthcare is consuming all the room's oxygen, but Afghanistan is estimated beyond $1 trillion too. The war has a scam feeling in that giveaways to private contractors should be going to help local Afghans, not US executives who hire Third World labor. Counter-narcotics is still in disarray; billions of dollars are being wasted in Kabul.Obama says he doesn't want to talk about or judge Afghanistan before 2011, but Americans can't bury our heads in 2010 while he initiates a suspect surge. Constant pressure is the only hope of political and fiscal accountability on Wall Street and "AfPak."

I'm pretty bad at making (or keeping) new year's resolutions, but this seems like an area worth considering.

Don't bother yourself to register to vote since your vote doesn't count. You've been brainwashed by your own system in believing the fairy tale that reads "democracy works."

Will Americans reclaim our Nation? By way of answer, I've compiled a number of D.C. New Year's Resolutions for your review. Dear Mr. Washington, exactly what do you suggest we do about these problems? I, for one, would welcome some concrete suggestions. I'm kind of tired of writing Congress, and it doesn't seem to have any impact. I've quit banking with Tarp recipients. Do you have any other suggestions?

We will reclaim our nation. And you, because of your namesake and your blog, are in charge. See, that is the problem, no true leader has appeared. The powers that be run endless games of distraction and division interlaced with despair or more delay-tactic calls to build third parties. But you, George, are the one to put all of us who yearn to be free onto task for 2010. I humbly suggest the following:Make a date, a RECURRING date of protest. Maybe it is semiannual, or maybe it is based on the seasons, but the date must be given time to percolate through the grapevine. Choose a simply symbol, perhaps a color, but someway that the growth of the movement can be made visible in our communities. Keep the means of communication, the spokespersons and definition of the movement specifically out of the hands of the mass media – anything they say about it or anyone they designate as its spokesperson is a lie. Keep to the most basic demands: a restoration of our rights to live as free people. Representative government must not be sold to the highest bidder. Elections cannot be free when they are purchased. Speech isn't free when corporate monopolies control the national dialogue. Demand redress of our grievances even when we know the level of corruption in congress. We must expect them to do what is right, move that mountain as it is our only recourse short of a revolution that will destroy us. We will prevail. Out of the current crisis also comes great opportunity.

Anonymous asserts:"On December 12, 2000 American democracy committed suicide, its corpse now carries that nasty smell of fascism."I think the process leading to the theft of our democracy easily can be traced back considerably further than the year, 2000. As to its exclusively lobbying aspects which are at its core, of course, Robert Kaiser, as well as the persecuted Meirsheimer and Walt have traced it back at least to the 1970s. And you are entirely right to detect the stench of a nascent fascism because that's precisely what's giving off the odor. Andrei Vyshinsky

Great site, lots of insights — EXCEPT: what to actually do. I agree with your assessments on nearly every topic, but don't see any practical solutions offered here. It's not like CNN or any media outlet is going to give air to the kind of opinions and info you present. I'm staying in the US now while my parents (in their late-80s) are still living. When that changes, we may be moving away (if it's still possible then).

We are and have been working hard to show Americans how to take control of our government away from the powerful special interests. Please come join the effort at the "Kick Them All Out Project." The first step is our "Fire Congress Campaign." Learn more at http://www.KickThemAllOut.com or FireCongress.org

Most Americans are peons, or worse. The proof is that there have been no major protests. Even the Mexicans put almost a million people in the street after the election BS in a few years ago. What's needed is to have a few million people surround the Capital, White House and Supreme Court and refuse to leave until these 543 criminals (Ron Paul is probably the only one who isn't a traitor) are arrested (or ripped to shreds by the angry mob.)

Reclaim? If anyone takes this bloody hill, it'll be virgin ground for any of these simpleton-soldiers.Let me put it this way for those with cognitive impairments. It is not enough -just to sit back in the altruists' armchair -and note that anything and everything the government is telling anyone and everyone through a bought and paid for media -is a lie.The peace, love and brotherhood blogger-battalions -all tried that with GW Bush. Yes these are lies. So what? The effect was minimal. It had an emboldening effect, if anything -really-.To think the same approach is going to work any better under Obama, -is just resigning oneself to more of the same doormat-treatment.This guy -Obama- is a pretty hard core, -from South Side Chicago. Don't think for a second a "community organizer" makes a few hundred million or so -without offing some pretty tough hombres. That's why Blagojevich is such an intense bother. He knows exactly where many of the bodies are buried, and he's just as tough as Obama. Maybe tougher. Blagojevich is still standing, isn't he?Obama is certainly a more able liar than GW Bush, if not a more ruthless killer. He's no pansy. That's for sure. So, if there's anything likely to be "reclaimed" for this group of gutless humanitarian ninnies -it's good odds- it will be the hole the typically terrified Ostrich puts its head into. But, hey! Best of luck!

Change you can believe in will soon be here. People that were selfish and isolated in their homes are being forced to be among their neighbors in the unemployment office and in makeshift camps. It is becoming painfully obvious to most that government has robbed the people to bail out the rich and that we are being taxed more and given less. As we become one in poverty many will see hope in taking action. When the youth lose faith in the future then attempts at change will begin and we will all have to take sides between the righteous and the beast and our courage will be tried. All will be engaged in battle and the result we be either eternal slavery or freedom.

I've never seen a President — I don't care who he is — stand up to them. It just boggles the mind. They always get what they want. The Israelis know what is going on all the time. I got to the point where I wasn't writing anything down. If the American people understood what a grip these people have got on our government, they would RISE UP IN ARMS. Our citizens certainly don't have any idea what goes on."Thomas H. Moorer(1912 – 2004)Admiral,US Navy & Chairman,Joint Chiefs of Staff during interview on24 August 1983
